Brake pads, part 2 Posted: October 8th, 2010, 4:30 pm Pads are install and after a few heat cycles, they stop awesome. 1000x better than the old cheap-o pads I had. I would recommend them to anyone! If anyone else wants them, they are available from RockAuto under the D274 and D272 parts (D274 is listed for an 83 Maxima, but the D272 are 200SX).
Quest for decent cheap brake pads Posted: October 5th, 2010, 3:41 pm Here I go again, time for new pads, just about nothing left in the rear, about 40% up front. Bought from Bendix CQ ceramic pads, front and rear. It's really hard to find good front pads for the XE S12, no problem for the SE or turbo though (they got the bigger front calipers). At least all S12's got the same rear calipers, so that's not a problem. The front pads are the D274 pads, though they're listed for an 83 maxima. Not sure why they don't list them for the XE S12s, since they're the same model pad, but if they don't fit I'll know why soon enough. I should have them Thursday (10/7/2010), only paid $54 for them shipped from RockAuto. Hopefully they'll grip better than the $10 specials I have on now, which barely give one good stop before giving up and can't even lock the fronts anymore.
