« Last post by rednucleus on 12:35:10 AM / 20-May-13 »You should really use a timing light. Some auto parts stores rent them. Two bolts secure the dizzy top & bottom. Loosen a couple turns. When you advance timing, rpm's should increase ( I think that's turning counterclockwise). If rpms are dropping you're retarding timing. You can advance till you get a ping/knock, then back it back down - but setting with a light is better. Should also mark the dizzy so you know where you started if doing it w/o a light. May need to adj idle when done. Specs say 4 degrees, mine has always run better at 8. Timing marks are -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20

I've got an '84 s12...factory turbo car, however, the ca18 was dumped and swapped for a ka lol.
I've had the car for a little while (my first s12).
I've always had an s-chassis car, but usually a 13/14.
Anyways, the car is a dohc ka, stock internal a, ARP studs, cosworth head gasket...top mount mani, 50 trim, 550cc's, enthalpy tune. S13 from subframe and suspension arms. Megan coils, qualiffe 2 way, etc lol.
Its a fun car for sure but I'm dailying it until I find a cheap beater.
I'll post some pics tomorrow!
