[Today at 02:13:12 AM] StephenG: Buy a gun, its the single best thing you can possible do to keep your sanity

[Today at 02:13:37 AM] StephenG: soldering gun*

[Today at 02:13:41 AM] SchizophrenicMC: lol

[Today at 02:13:56 AM] SchizophrenicMC: The joints I'm soldering are all board joints

[Today at 02:14:19 AM] SchizophrenicMC: That is, this little 10A iron is sufficient

[Today at 02:14:29 AM] StephenG: oh, nvm then. Wont want to use it on anything with ICs

[Today at 02:14:38 AM] SchizophrenicMC: lol

[Today at 02:14:50 AM] SchizophrenicMC: There are maybe 4 ICs in this whole damn Jeep

[Today at 02:15:33 AM] SchizophrenicMC: But it's got a bunch of boards with various shit connected to them

[Today at 02:19:06 AM] SchizophrenicMC: I might install this vehicle information center in place of the graphical display module

[Today at 02:19:41 AM] SchizophrenicMC: If I do, I'll have to jury-rig this arduino into a device for mocking up sensor signals I don't have

[Today at 02:19:59 AM] SchizophrenicMC: Like the coolant level sensor and wiper fluid level sensor

[Today at 02:31:05 AM] StephenG: sounds like fun

Ok guys, this is how I wired up my frankenstein S13 (1991-1994) KA24DE in my MKII CA20E'd S12.

Stock CA20E lower harness can be used on the KA for the starter and alty.

S12KA
Start Signal:black w/ yellow stripeorange
Fuel Pump Relay:yellow w/ red srtipeblack w. pink stripe
S12KA

Inside the car under the dash (close to where the ecu is mounted)
.................................S12........ ................................KA

Start Signal:.....black w/ yellow stripe...........................orange
................small white plug under dash...............................

Fuel Pump Relay:  yellow w/ red srtipe.......................black w. pink stripe
...............larger white plug under dash...............................

Water Temp (for gauge):  purple w/ white stripe..............blue w/ black stripe
................small black plug under dash....................................

Trans Neutral Switch:  yellow w/ red stripe...................green w/ orange stripe
...............larger white plug under dash........................................

Also note that there are multiple power and grounds for the ecu.  Locate them all on a ka pinout and hook them up.  I recall hooking the power to a fused switch in the fuse box so it gets power whey the key is on.

In the engine bay, on the drivers side, under the stock maf location is a gray plug.  This is where the next wiring occurs.

....................................S12..... ......................................KA

Primary Coil:..........black/white...................................black/red
There is a 2 pin connector on the coil that has a light green with black stripe and a black with red stripe. The LG/B is the alternating ground signal from the ECU. The B/R is constant power to the coil when the key is ON, This is what is connected to the S12's original coil's power (the B/W).

ECCS Power:....light green w/ black stripe..........................black w/ white stripe

.backup power to the ecu:
..........black w/ white stripe or black w red stripe..............................red
.....depending on which side of the gray plug you tap into.......................

Tach signal for an aftermarket tach..........................light green w/ black stripe
............................................ .....located at the ignitor, next to the coil

it looks like the interior plugs would be 110, 111, and 113. 110 would be black and the 111 , 113 would be white. they hand down just above where the ecu bolts up.

the amount or wires on the gray s12 plug in the engine bay is the same amount as the ka plug posted above.

the plugs under the dash have between 3 and 8 wired.
