sorry to jack the thread, but couldn't you in theory just use one side of the spark plugs?

Ive got a VG so i have no idea about the CA's, but it comes with two separate sets of plugs right? the first set to Ignite the fuel, and a second set to help burn off left over fuel so that it could comply with US emissions standards... this of course is just what i've read...

for example, a Mazda 13b has two sets, a Leading plug and a Trailing plug... the trailing are fired to burn extra fuel, but if you disconnected say the trailing or leading, it would still run off of one plug per rotor..
.
couldn't you just in theory, take one set of plugs loose, and adjust the timing and use only one set of plugs? I mean, not as a permanent fix but as a temp thing so you could at least drive it

please excuse my crazy logic
good luck getting that thing out mang

yes but over time the plug thats left in there could fall apart and that could cause some major engine problems

I should run the intake side spark plug wire to the exhaust side. and see if it runs smoother lol

I just need this shit to hold together long enough for me to title it. It will be much less hassle to title with factory engine and trans.
I'd rather be a matchstick than a lighter.

The exhaust side will run, but its a very incomplete burn. They dont fire at the same time. I want to figure out how to make both the exhaust  and intake side fire at the same time. For both the intakes spark, and the exhausts spark.
Thats why I was wondering what side the stuck plug was on.....if it was on the exhaust side(secondary) I was gonna say the hell with it, and not worry with it since the engine will run perfectly fine with just the intake plugs connected......oh well.
As for figuring out how to make both sides fire at the same time.....it was figured out a few years ago....there is a thread here somewhere on how to do it, called "dual coil mod"

Should....and if they don't, take it back to Sears, and they'll exchange it for free

Lets see if the gear ratchets hold up to more than 200 lbs. The CA heads are aluminum right? I dont see how steel gave before the aluminum threads in the head...

Awesome. I cant get a dremel in to cut the end off to get a regular short  socket, or stripped nut/bolt remover on it. Not nearly enough room. I am going to have to pull the head. This shit isnt worth it..

If you try and run the engine to warm it up, you do run the decent chance of removing the threads.

It sounds like you may have the original 20some year old spark plugs in the engine.  I've seen it before.

If the Craftsman stripped head socket tools do not work, you could try and tack weld something to the remaining part of the spark plug.  Sometime the heat of the welding will be enough to break off the frozen-ness of the threads.  Pulling the head will solve your problem, because you can bust out most of it and torch/mangle/drill out the rest.  At this point, you are pretty stuck, so you could try and start it up and get some heat into the head this way.  You are probably going to take out the threads anyhow, a helicoil isn't too hard to install, and if you are planning an engine swap anyhow....

Also, say you do fuck up that head, S12 heads aren't that hard to come by.  You could use that one to practice porting on, and then port one you get to replace the old one and bolt it in!

yeah don't look at this as a bad thing. just a chance to mod. port and polished head would be nice.

KA24DE is the plan. If I cant get the car titled with the KA. I will keep it, strip it, and rape this baby on the weekends via drift. the craftsman tools are lifetime guarantee.  so even if they do break you'll get another fo free.
maybe you can try that gator grip thing but i don;t know how well that would work

if you can get a socket or something to grab try to tighten it a little first and that sometimes will loosen things enough to free things up

and that gator grip thing is a retarded peace of crap that when it breakes, craftsman's lifetime gaurantee dose not cover.
