last time I check my VG sounded pretty damn mean...and less ricey than most of the s13s running ka's around my parts.

VG's are so cheap and easy to rebuild man, i see youre in LA, ive rebuilt 2 of them with about 140bux, keep that VG in SE

These vg30 to 4 cylinder swap threads are always so productive.
FIrst my rims are horrible, than there ok when painted black , now my cars horrible, now my fenders are to much after i was told i couldnt do it.... Lol club s12 ftw.....  Only here have Ive been told they look like shit..... SOrry its not bone stock with crown vic rims running the stock vg making 130whp and looks generic like every other one. My car looks dope ive been told this a billion times on local forums....

Swap out the vg and you will be forever loved and revered.

All in all, VG > KA.  I'll leave the four cylinders to stripped down model pickups, and hondas.

And I'll leave the 20mpg with comparable horsepower to you VG guys.

Stock for stock. KA>VG in every way. similar power. much cheaper. Much more abundant. Easier to work on/replace. newer. list goes on

But wait, we weren't comparing VG to KA were we.

VG>SR :P

(I just happen to hate the VG a little bit less than the SR)

jay, you just said the vg is better than the ka...

Might be similar horsepower, but the torque numbers are way better.  and I get 20mpg flogging (read: pinned all the time) the shit out of it, and 24mpg doing the speed limit, and 26mpg cruising at 100mph.

The torque numbers arent "SOOO much better" The ka makes 160 torque and the vg makes what you said 174... thats not huge , let aloen mines turboed now making it 270hp (crank) and around 280 crank torque. But i could careless what other people think of my car its mine  and i love it.


 On the other hand i dont like the vg or sr  but I think if you did a rb20 swap  it would be much easier.

And to do a sr swap in to a se is as easy as  having a friend who knows how to weld  make motor mounts.
