Street Racing? Takes a certain personality and big responsibility. It's not for everyone. There are rules just as in any competition. Number one being safety and number two is sportsmanship. Never endanger anyone else, so it's between two consenting licensed drivers. Conditions must be perfect. If time permits I usually chat with the person to see if in agreement of our intent. It's about as dynamic as driving gets. No cones, track rules, or drivers whom think just because of a helmet they possess skills. In racing loss of traction is time lost. If done properly you should be shaking when it's over. It's that kind of a rush. That's why we do it!

If anyone is to blame it's my dad. While I was a kid, dad drove a Corvette and got mom a GTO (his & hers Hurst shifter). At least I don't smoke Marlboro Gold 100's with windows rolled-up, wife and three kids in the car. My how times have changed, some for the better. (cough cough)

All I know is i was obeying the laws, and got smashed into at a dead stop by someone going 30 mph on monday morning, it doesnt take street racing to be dangerous, it takes people not paying attention.

EDIT: First time i ever dropped in on a transition... idk if youd consider it a mini or a half pipe but it was pretty much a big miniramp. Youd drop for like a foot and a half then hit tranny and go. However, i stood on top of it and pussed around for about an hour cause i was afraid to do it, and I couldnt do it. But now that i have done it enough times, i do it looking backwards and in weird positions screwing around.

First time i ever tandemed i was shaking because it was infront of a bunch of people i didnt know. I kept spinning in the dumbest ways.

A couple weeks ago my friend Mike and I were passing each other mid drift and it was as simple as pooping.

I was asking your age to figure whether you still had a functioning adrenal medulla or know what an adrenaline rush is. Referring to my driving as "anal" reminds me why I'm supposed to have a car with a trunk!

I don't shake from highway runs anymore, but used to almost every time. Best run was against a maxima, I had him struggling to keep up.

Maxima? Ha ha. Try running with the likes of a 997-S or E92 M3's. Bet you shake after your speedo was screaming 130-Plus! And on an island? That's why it's rather pleasing driving this S12. Driving the S54 Z3 M Coupe with the proper attitude isn't easy on a braddah. Entirely different level of performance. My Bimmer became too well known.

Sorry, you assume stock maxima.
some very modded cars here since we have a lot of tracks. I got beat in my chevelle by a minivan.....but it was turbo awd.
I learned a hard lesson by messing with a glhst.
I hear you guys have prime roads on that island!
I know a couple s2k guys that run around up there.

There is Tantalus Drive but it's heavily monitored, unless you know the correct time. Oahu roads suck! The Big Island has some nice, open roads. If looking to the left of the map you will see Kapolei. Kapolei "half-point" to Kunia Road exit is the only place to "T.W.O." safely. Only a matter of time before a camera is there.

I agree about assuming a stock Maxima... Never know what is under a hood nowadays.

There is nothing wrong with grass huts and hula skirts, even if that were still the case. Don't feel bad though, I have spoken with people who still thought we all rode horses and carried 6-shooters on our hips here in CO.

Under covers ftl. they are starting to get wise here in CO and go back to the old intrepids. In Aurora I have spotted a few pickup trucks with lights pulling people over. Here in CO springs they have minivans..... smart little buggers.

I hear hawaii is going to or has impleminted anti drift roads? But the up side is they increase grip making speed runs even more fun than what they were?

That's on Tantalus Drive. They even made a video game about the road.

When the News broke about the traction corners, the drifters had a laugh. Most of them took down their YouTube vids after the News broadcast, because they showed footage of a braddah in a Japanese PU just ownin the place! I'm sure he had "spotters" to pull off that run. I never knew you could do that in a PU. A lot more than drifting goes on up there.
