[Today at 11:41:49 PM] SchizophrenicMC: Also, shipping for a 300-400lb engine from Japan to anywhere else on earth would be insane

[Today at 11:42:25 PM] Brandon G: Yeah, you'd have to hit it lucky and tag along in some parts place's shipping container

[Today at 11:42:42 PM] Brandon G: I live right on the west coast near a major port, so it wouldn't be THAT bad

[Today at 11:43:00 PM] Brandon G: but still, if you can't confirm the engine runs, it's not even worth its weight in parts

[Today at 11:43:51 PM] SchizophrenicMC: No it would still be that bad.

[Today at 11:44:06 PM] SchizophrenicMC: Freight overseas from Japan to US/CAN is ridiculous

[Today at 11:44:24 PM] SchizophrenicMC: I've shipped a number of things from Japan

[Today at 11:44:41 PM] SchizophrenicMC: Half the price is just in getting it to san francisco

[Today at 11:45:17 PM] Brandon G: You can rent a whole shipping container for $900 one way

[Today at 11:45:36 PM] Brandon G: If you can find a parts company that's shipping back one of their containers

[Today at 11:45:37 PM] Wonderingraven: that is possibly why shipping from japan costs the motor over 1500

[Today at 11:45:55 PM] Brandon G: at exactly the same time, you can just pay a small fee to have your bits

[Today at 11:45:55 PM] Wonderingraven: and another 500 for freight charges

[Today at 11:45:58 PM] Brandon G: included in their container

[Today at 11:46:12 PM] Brandon G: but the chances of finding that are ridiculous so i wouldn't even consider it

Is it easier to piece together your own intercooler piping or just buy aluminum ebay set?

Get an aluminum "universal" kit, the cheap-o one I got off ebay 3 or 4 years ago was cheap and came with a knock-off greddy BOV that's still working great.

Just make sure you get a bead of some kind at the tube ends or use a little hair spray... Nothing like popping a charge pipe at 7000RPM at full boost.
