pilot bearing auto to 5 speed
« on: 10:00:46 AM / 25-Jan-12 »
since I'm swapping a ka24de into my 85 turbo hatch I had to swap the pilot bearing from my ka since it came from an auto s14
The pilot bearings are way different from auto and manual so this is a must for any one doing this convertion and swap
The new bearing cost me 3.99 at the local advance auto parts part# is 14658

I used grease, and a 14 deep socket with a bolt to cover the whole on the socket

Then I packed the pilot bearing and placed the socket and then hit it with a 5lbs hammer the grease will act like hydraulic fluid puttin preasure on the bearing pushing it out

Clean the grease on the shaft and procide to insert new p bearing. Hit with the hammer until the bearing is flush with the engine

The one in the left is the new 5 speed p bearing.
