1. Ka mounts
2. Yes there is a difference. Mk1 is easier.
3. Again yes. Ka front half of shaft.
4. I used the mk1 write up from sterlings post. Worked perfectly.

Now what car (mk1/mk2, turbo/ non turbo) and engine are you gonna use?

If you're doing the bellhousing swap in order to attach your stock S12 tranny (FS5W71C) to the ka24, you will NOT need the s13 driveshaft.  Since you are keeping your tranny, your driveshaft will not need to be shorter...

If you use the S13 FS5W71C tranny, it is longer by a couple of inch compared to the s12 version, so you need the front section of the s13 driveshaft because it is shorter

I just did this swap. Ka bell/ ca "c" trans. I thought the same thing.
I ended up needing a ka front shaft.

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

This is what I was lead to believe as well (for either B or C tranny). I did the ka bellhousing swap with my B trans and it fit like a glove with the stock driveshaft. Strange to hear that drifterb would need to use the s13 front driveshaft with the s12 C trans but I only have direct experience with the B trans bellhousing swap.
FIrst my rims are horrible, than there ok when painted black , now my cars horrible, now my fenders are to much after i was told i couldnt do it.... Lol club s12 ftw.....  Only here have Ive been told they look like shit..... SOrry its not bone stock with crown vic rims running the stock vg making 130whp and looks generic like every other one.
