Raidator issue?
« on: 05:37:19 PM / 09-Apr-12 »
Ok when i drive my car my temp gauge stays on cool level . And when i turn on the heater it doesnt really blow any heat. But when i let it sit for a while it'll heat up and the gauge will go half way.I have 1986 Ca20.

well the "middle of the gauge is where it is "supposed" to be at normal operating temp. though i agree with night_s12 that is sounds like the thermostat.

If it stays open it doesnt allow the coolant to stay in the motor and heat up. Its just like flowing water stays cooler than still water, so if ur coolant is in a constant loop then its not gonna heat up much because the water pump is gonna just keep it goin. But as long as the temp gauge isnt goin past half way your fine dont worry about it

Hell most people just take out tyere thermostat or get  one that opens at a much lower temp so dont worry man

Ditto thermostat - mine went up less than 1/4 until changed. Also, isn't better/more efficient for a motor to run at spec temp vs colder?
