[11:14:49 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: Anyone know anything about that stuff?

[11:16:44 PM / 25-May-13 ] StephenG: no idea

[11:19:15 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: It may be a future problem for me

[11:19:23 PM / 25-May-13 ] StephenG: I was under the impression it was more of a master cyl thing

[11:19:47 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: It is also

[11:20:03 PM / 25-May-13 ] StephenG: Ah, never done anything that involved

[11:20:20 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: But the caliper is to back off the rotor for improved mileage

[11:20:45 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: My mc is non quick uptake

[11:21:41 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: My current rear calipers are on opposite sides of the rotor - kinda like both rights

[11:22:09 PM / 25-May-13 ] StephenG: Thats interesting lol..

[11:22:15 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: I can't mill a bracket to mount them on a ford knuckle

[11:22:55 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: They're staggered that way as the shocks are staggered that way - stop wheel hop

[11:23:05 PM / 25-May-13 ] StephenG: Ah, gotcha

[11:24:41 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: The 04 cobra calipers may not work for me

[11:26:02 PM / 25-May-13 ] JonB: Maybe quick-up takes went the way of the dodo

KA24E or KA24DE? Short tube runner or long tube runner? Knowing what year the header was designed for will help...

BUT... I'll show you what I had to do to get my long tube S13 KA24DE header to fit properly in my S12:

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

Mark I and Mark II are identical in terms of engine bays... you have a picture of the header put of the car? Was it an eBay purchase?

Chances are, what you see I had to do, you will, too... because it's usually the downpipe portion that doesn't clear the lower firewall and floorboards.  Just make sure you have some biiiiiig Jack stands for both height reasons (so you can get enough swing with the hammer) and for stability (because the bigger truck Jack stands have sturdy, wide bottoms).

Chalk it out (or a grease pencil, whatever), and get to hammering. These things never fit our cars without modification. The good news is doing this will leave your exhaust tucked up high behind the frame rails so if you have your car low like mine, you don't have to worry about crushing or even scraping the exhaust

Yeah cutting and welding the floorboard is unnecessary. Just make sure you use an industrial heat gun like I did or it wont work. Those are cheap and good to have anyways, make fender rolling jobs easier, help loosen bolts, break shit free, etc. But without that industrial heat gun the metal wont heat up enough to reshape. Do it exactly like I did in my thread and you will get great results.
