WOW  :wideeyed: sweet boat! Im helping build an old 17footer from the late 70s. Making all new dash and side panels. Might have to cut the top parts of the fiberglass floor off to replace the wooden supports underneath and to see if it is lake worthy. I have so fiberglass resin and matting so i can do anything simple. It has a big old Mercury engine on there to, 6 cylinder with 3 carbs. Cant wait to rebuild the controls so we can get it to start up. I bought a quad carb Sync kit encase it needs it.... $167  :s

Fuck you then, I'll take my movies, box of chocolates, bottle of wine and chloroform somewhere else.
Adding an SSD to that is kinda like strapping a 3 inch stainless HKS exhaust on a geo metro.

Nice boat, I'll love having a cigar boat or a yatch, but it is not in my plan unless I win lottery. My love for boats probably started 4 years ago through college. Trying to keep the job fun!

In fact I just signed my job offer for my graduation. I'll hop in this boat for 6 weeks at the end of the month.

I'm pretty pumped about it, I've been on this ship last year, sick crew, sick trip to the arctic. And this time it will be as an officer, not a student! :)

Mmm... Boat. For all the lakes around here, I never go boating. Just doesn't happen. I suppose it's because the only people I know with a boat are my neighbors, and we're not close at all.

Though, I've been considering making a barrel raft and floating down a river this summer. Would be fun. Some plastic 55-gallon drums, some wood, a couch, some shade, and some buddies.

Barrels, wood I did that when I was 14. My friends and went down the river for almost 10 miles. The problem was we didn't think about getting back or how we would get raft back. It was a one shot deal for us. But for 8 hours we were tom sawyer

Yeah, when my friend, Osten, and I, were freshmen, we had planned on building a small boat to go fishing in Fish Creek (actual name) for fun. Never got around to it; dad never bought plywood like he promised.

I figure the barrel raft will be done up at some actual river somewhere south of here (because fuck knows the Trinity's useless) and we'll have some buddies to bring the tow vehicles downstream, or maybe get a cheap trolling motor and just power back up the river. Haven't decided yet.

Wow... what a gorgeous watercraft, you should show us what the cabin looks like. Where is it moored? And what can you tell me about that house on stilts?

I'd like to see closer pics of that house.

My folks had a ski boat back in the early 80's, with an open bow and a Volvo engine. Was a lot of fun, and yes, I used to water ski

Also, congrats, DJay! Sounds like a new adventure!

THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.

the boat is moored outside of annapolis md. the house on stilts is a lighthouse in the bay when you are coming into annapolis. the cabin still needs some work done to it. next on the list to do. all the mahogany was just done and the 502's were just rebuilt. thinking of superchargers . had it up to 73mph by gps. very limited number of these boats were built only 7 of this year and only 9 built in 1990. the boat was hand built in Canada

Man that boat is awesome. I wish I had a place to keep one. My side access is wide enough to comfortably get cars into the back and sides of my place, but not a trailer. Or I'd have a trailer by now lol. But I don't think I could fit a boat the size of yours... and I'd want one that required some restoration so I could do it myself. Oh well something to shoot for down the line.

Here's what I found:

great ski boat Red do you know the history behind Sanger boats and its founder Jack Davidson the fastest i ever went on water was in one of his boats a 29' "Alley Cat" at 147mph. i think the Sanger is a better boat dollar for dollar than a Ski Nautique........ wheres your tower

Yeah, Sanger has a great racing history. They don't make near the volume of ski boats that Nautique, Malibu etc make, and I seldom see one here in WA. Much more popular in CA.  As for the tower - you will never see one on my boat, I am strictly a slalom skiier and all those wakeboard shredders do is make waves and ruin my day - kids!!  BTW if you want to see heaven on earth, check out skipond.com - it's a private lake my ski friends rent over in Ea WA. Slalom course skiing at it's best. Only problem is I can't walk for 2-3 days after a day there. Maybe I'll post some pics later this summer.

you skiers are amazing that "skipond" looks awesome. i have not been towed behind a boat in 25 years. if i went skiing it would be a month before i could walk. when it comes to water skiing think of John Candy in the movie the "Great Outdoors" and you have me skiing
