Who do you guys think would win in a quater mile a turbo s12 or a corrola gts stock for stock?

definitely not a corolla. the s12 turbo has like 140hp. the corolla has like 110hp

tough call, id say the GTS because of the stock clutch LSD and shorter gearing.

theyre both slow as fuck nonetheless.

close but id wager the ae86,
lighter, solid lsd rear end and two-tone panda paint gives it 15hp and drifting skill...

only thing s12 has going is thats its got a whole (maybe)30hp more, mybe better gearing, and a good condition failing arm suspension should give a better takeoff due to the squat, but then camber/traction becomes an issue

The s12 has 120 stock not 140 lol (I wish ) anyway I would say the s12 I ve raced a modded corolla in my stockish s12 and he didnt get me by much maybe a fender and that because I miss shifted third stock for stock the s12 takes it

I guess it would depend are we talking sr5 ae86 or the 4age cuase the 4a would ruin ca20 ca18 would be close fr the vg becuase the rolla gets a way netter launch....now i want to see it some one race them

Power to weight ratio wise, if the cars could drive themselves, a 4a-ge ae86 should beat a ca18et s12 in the 1/4 mile. Either way it would be very close so it is not like one or the other has a significant advantage in the acceleration department stock for stock.

going by the numbers Motor Trend posted for the cars in 1985 from 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile you be the judge

1985 Nissan 200SX Turbo 9.5 16.9

There was another car magazine, though I thought it was motor trend, that listed the s12 turbo and SE both at 16.5 in the quarter. The problem with 1/4 mile numbers is that there are so many factors like outside temperature, elevation, tire compound, etc that are going to effect the final figure. Not to mention the fact some drivers are obviously more skilled then others when it comes to 1/4 mile runs. This is why I view the power to weight ratio as a better gauge to measure speed then 1/4 mile numbers.
