[Raleigh, NC] CA18ET engine part out
« on: 08:36:45 PM / 19-Jul-12 »
I bought this CA18ET long block with the hopes of rebuilding it and putting it into my '85 Notch. The person I bought it from thought it just "needed new piston rings" because he installed a manual boost controller wrong and overboosted it. Turns out it spun the #1 bearing and bent the rod. After taking it to the machine shop, they told me it would be about $700 to recondition all the parts (block, head, cam, crank, and rods). Including all the other parts I would need to put it back together, spending over $1000 on a stock CA18ET just wasn't something I wanted to do. ANYWAYS, I figured I'd offer up all the parts from the engine to whoever may need them.

The only thing I won't ship is the block, anything else should fit in a box and not be too terribly heavy.

MAKE OFFERS and give me a zip code so I can calculate shipping for you.

Everything is sold AS-IS. Ask any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer them.

Here is the link as to what items I have: http://photobucket.com/ca18etparts

Thanks!

It came from an 86 with the B trans.  I know this because I bought the previous CA's owners S12 from Raleigh that now has a KA swapped over.  But the owner had said he had gotten rid of the CA because he killed the motor from over boosting it with a manual controller.  Anyways, not meaning to thread-jack, it's just that I know the previous owner and now his other motor, the KA, that he sold me with the car, is now in the middle of a rebuild as well...

I do not have the harness and ecu from that car. I do have a harness, ecu, distributor with new cap and rotor, spare valve cover, and a exhaust manifold with AiResearch M10 turbo attached to it from an '84 Turbo. Only reason I haven't posted that stuff up is because it's all still in boxes and I need to find it.

84 is not going to work for me unfortunately the 86 is the bastard child because it's mk1.5 so it right in the middle and nissan was obviously high when the built it lol

I understand. I have a 86.5 Notch and that was a pain in my butt when I did my SR20DE swap in it.
