iam loud thinking about an VG swap

well iam start to get tired of my RB20.........every week a new problem.....every month a shitload of cash just to fix up the mess that the prevoius owner did......ive already spend alot of cash on the most basics things like a new head :wideeyed: camshafts etc

and now we find out the piston rings a done and the turbo is a write off..........iam sooooo sick of it.
finding an other RB is not the problem, but those engines have here a retarded fanboi pricetag-->1000$ just for a RB20E !!!

on the bright side
my megasquirt system works like a champ now so why not put a v6 in it and call it a day

so i need to know
can i adapt the CA crossmember to work with the VG?
can i use a Maxima (FWD) oilpan?
is it possibel to adapt a CA/RB tranny bell on it?

Don't know about the trans, but as to the other questions...

The VG crossmember is completely different from the CA so no. You'll need an S12 oil pan to make it work without tons of fab work to the pan.
You'll also need an S12 intake unless you plan to modify the hood.

Also what year is the car? You'll need the later (87-88) hood just to clear the S12 intake.

....oilpan will be extrem hard to get here, a custom one could be cheaper than import a s12 one from the states.
the crossmember is not that huge problem, custom engine mounts can solve this.

Intake  :yay!: my retarded friend give me constant bad ideas about weber downdrafts  :laugh: but iam really like the idea about a carbed VG like mr 510 it have.....to bad shipping for manifold and Carb would rape my ass :no:

but everything become useless if i dont find a tranny

Strongly beg to differ.

An M20 will drop into an S12. An M/S5X isn't that much different down below. Just run an E34 M50 oil pan and front sump as it's considerably shallower, and be on your merry way. It's what we E30 guys do. And the S12 crossmember is nearly in the exact same place.
