?
LOL, look how high my other s12 is

Well lemme explain, most spacers are in MM, right? It really depends on what YOU want. DO you want to stretch the tire a bit? then you'd need to go out more than if you left the tire like it is now.
Just measure that gap in millimeters, and figure it out. Although judging from the pics, I'd say 20mm which is about an inch. Remember, the rear spacer will need to be bigger than the front. You might want only half that (10mm) on the front with identical-width wheelsets. That's what I'm going to be using (if I remember right).

i wont need spacers for the front its almost perfect.
i was thinking 25 millimeter, but ill try to measure.
i dont want it poking too much, i want it perfect haha this is the hard part
i have no camber to mess with

How wide are the wheels? What offset?
Some fitment facts:
Backspace is the distance from the rear outside edge of the rim (outside edge of the tire bead lip) to the mounting face. It's not a + or - number, just a measurement. Backspace usually doesn't change much, regardless of wheel size or offset. This is what places the suspension loads where the designers intended.
Offset is a measurement from the 'imaginary" center-point of the wheel's width to the mounting face. FWD rims have high positive offsets (usually +30 or more), which means the mounting face is 30mm closer to the face of the wheel than the center-point. Old RWD rims had zero or even some negative offset.
This is an S12 with a 14x7 wheel w/ 110mm of backspace (~4 5/16"), and +8mm offset, shod with 195/60 tires, and with (I believe) a 20mm spacer:
Another confusing thing is that 7" wide rims actually measure 8" from outer edge to outer edge. Wheel width is measured between the bead faces, even tho backspace is measured from the outside of the bead lip.
-
I measured in MM how far it was from where the sidewall was to where I wanted it to be.
It ended up being about an inch, so I went with that. I think an Inch would look good, but it depends on hot much you're going to lower it since we SRA guys have no camber in the rear.

see i dont know my offset, it isnt stated either i cant find it
rims are 7 inches wide
and remember i have no camber fun like in that pic posted

20mm sounds like it would suffice, you said last night they were like +14 or +17? you'll prolly have to roll the fenders . and a stretched tire on a 7inch wide wheel is impossible, unless theyre like 165's
-
how about 25?
25 mill (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25mm-4X114-3-WHEEL-SPACERS-ADAPTERS-NISSAN-SENTRA-SE-R_W0QQitemZ220411361690QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item33518a799a&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318)
the higher spacer i get, the better my alloys and steelies will look too when i drift lol
25 or 20. hm
-
Those are expensive, if you look hard on ebay you can find them cheaper.
-
honestly i would just go measure, get a ruler measure from the wheel lip to the fender lip
-

true, it would be a pathetically small footprint. The tire on the picture above (the 195) is slightly. It really should be a 205 on a 7" wheel to be squared off. And bigger would balloon a bit.

find them in 15-20 mil lol
-
1" = 25.4mm
they have 5/8" too which is 15.9mm
-

What he said. Haha
-
maybe i should go for the whole inch.
i dont want to poke out dough
-
No. Having them stick out without some stretch is a sin.
I ran 16x8+25s with 205/55s (No stretch) on them on my SRA car, and they were a good fit. Had to lip the fenders, though.

I would get hub centric spacers.....if you care about a smooth ride. Just look for some for a s13....and a center bore of 66

im scared of hubcentric.
ive had hubcentric studs snap in half and i had to ruin the rim to get it off
but i might get them because hubcentric does seem more safe in a way. i have a tq wrench too

hubcentric hubs on these spacers have nothing to do with studs..... the hub centric part is the lip around the center hole that your wheel will sit on, allowing the wheels to center up on the hub for a vibration free ride. You just need to measure the center bore on your wheels to see what it is
-
well the link you gave me was 66... its stated for a s13 also, 114.3
ive had the snowflake hubcentric rims.. i mean. ill go with hubcentric spacers 90 bucks is okay of a price too
but yea ill measure it up
-
here's mine......
-
what lug nuts do you use??
when i had my snowflakes i seriously had the top of the lug nut sheer off like twice.. then its like impossible to remove them.. and they were brand new almost.
and.. arent there supposed to be washers or a bushing or something to keep that shock moving left and right??

Originals....they were on the car when I got it (20 years ago).....so I assume they're OE.
Never paid attention to the shocks....a shop in Florida put them on about 10 years ago....but now that you mention it...seems like there should be washers on each side....looks like I found my next project
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/locklear/wheel2.jpg)
-
do you have a pic with the nut off the rim?
those look like the stock taperd ones... lol. i used those once. and lost my wheel on track
wheels, so clean. everything on your car. so clean. ughh

I'll snap a pic...they're not tapered if memory serves me correctly....the end is skinny and flat, and has a thick washer that sits up under the part that you grab with a lug wrench. The only one that is tapered is the lock lug.....which is off my old Maxima. The locks have been on there for around 10 years....no probs with them

heres the ones that i use that fail. they snap in half... i spent like 40 bucks for a bunch of them awhile back and probally will never use them again
i cant find the oens like in the first pic.. i found those shitty ones below at carquest
-
(http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll291/cheetahblue/wheels/IMG_0896.jpg)
are these yours?
Style is the same.....but the washers on mine are seperate..the one in the pic looks like it's part of the lug
-
okay thanks for helping me clear this all up. but the OE ones like yours, and the one that sterling posted awhile back, (pic u quoted) looks alot more beefier then my pos lug nuts. must i find them.
-
here is one of mine "Acorn" style I believe..........

david, the type of lugs you use depends on the wheel. some wheels (stock) are designed for the shank/washer type and some are the kind youre using now (most wheels)
its not just a personal preference type thing
also on a drift car, especially in the rear hubcentric spacers might get kind of annoying as spare wheels might have different center bores, so more shit to change out, just to put spares on

That's a "mag" style, this is an acorn:
has a tapered end.

question:
the only reason those fit is because of the spacers right?
because i tried putting a set of those celica supra rims on my car and the hub bore was too small on the celica supras.

That's right...you're right. It's been a while......I was thinking of my Maxima

yes. they are either 15 or 20mm spacers with the hubcentric part knocked out, effectively making it like a slip on large enough so that the smaller bore dia of the wheel does not contact the larger hub ring. hope this makes sense.
David, the aftermarket nuts you got were probably shitty, the stock S12 ones are beefy and should have no problems. If you need a set I can get some in a yard here, that should be relatively easy. lug nuts should never break.
