that brake light is a fucking bitch even if you DO have the right one.

I replaced the factory ones with the same size, but better quality when I had my corolla.

I know you probably have a good answer for this, but why didn't you space out the rear speakers more towards the corners of the window?

the holes are big enough for the magnet structure on the inside and my audio guy said it wouldnt make a difference

Are they just providing bass in the back? I know bass is omnidirectional and it doesn't matter where you place it. Those things look expen$ive.

And arro, I can give you a fairly ok explaination on why he did it that way though.

The further towards the window spots are the stock holes, which actually arent set up well for sound quality in general.  They also wouldnt have fit his oval shaped speakers too well, due to the shape of the "indent/hole".  I considered doing exactly what he did there when I had my corolla of the same model.

this is true, i was sick of carrying a 60lb sub box around with me when i listen to a lot of talk radio now, when i do listen to music, its not really loud anymore, i guess im growing up lol

the imaging is pretty good actually, it sounds like the highs are bouncing off the rear windows right at me, definitely a totally different feel than before.

next up is putting the 6.5s where the 4s go in the doors... that looks like a real mission

That's some really nice installation. Thorough work.
I used the same type of hushmat for my front speakers.
Hope it's not too offtopic, but do you know if 6x9 speakers can be fit into rear of the s12 hatch?

The hair looks like it was robbed from an old pink caddy. I heard a pimp named Slickback is looking for you. Seriously though it looks fine.

im pretty sure they could be fit to an s12, i suppose it depends on how much work you want to put into it, id say its worth it though

yeah, i think its worth it because a 6x9 has the same surface area as an 8" woofer, which makes for great midbass

I got a good deal on them, $180

I've seen them for $240 online, though I never researched it much

As far as a review... it has strong midbass, even with my eclipse nav powering them, they can handle much much much more

The highs are very articulate, and have very good imaging and quality, I hear music in a different way because of the clarity they provide

Definitely the best 6x9s I've owned, probably the best on the market imo...

good shit. im looking at redoing the audio system in my s12 with two different pairs of 6x9's in the rear being the focus. those are a little rich for my blood but i might have to check some out as you describe them very well to my liking.
