Title: Ca20de Head Bolts
Post by: aux on 08:48:49 AM / 27-Jul-10
just thought id give this one last try

does anyone know what the specs for or which headbolt has been found to work for installing the ca18de head on the ca20e block?

this is extreemly important, its basically the missing link for me. since the ca20de has been created by more than a few, it would be nice to know which bolts were used.. or if custom, then what specs so i can have a set made.

PLZ HELP!!!!

ummm I can think of only one off the top of my head, and it was stupid expensive. From what I remember it was way cheaper to go out and get an SR front clip.

A discussion was made at this Linky (http://club-s12.org/v3/index.php?topic=27683)

Sorry, personal opinion here, but with rods smaller than my pointer finger (And I don't have pudgy fingers), I wouldn't trust it with even 20 more hp than stock. I have zero shame in saying I hate that fucking motor with the flaming passion of a thousand suns.

You need to use cut down CA18DET bolts (or they'll bottom out before tightening) & drill out the holes in the block to suit the thicker bolts. In the end it cost 3 times as much to get it to fit than the bolts themselves.

The stock rods can handle 200rwkw if shot peened as I've proven.

Tell us more Bryan. I'm always keen to hear what others have come up with regarding the CA20DE(T).
