Post by: ryans12 on 06:46:33 PM / 07-Jun-05
hey guys,

I\'m interested to see if anyone has done this / attempted this...

There are plenty of VG30D\'s around here and i\'m thinking of somthing differant but i do want to drift it and i\'m not sure how much it will mess with that handling?

Any info would be good

cheers guys

It will definetly hang a lot more weight on the front end, and it\'ll be an extremely cramped engine bay.  The DETT\'s been done in a RHD car, very tight, but then again, it\'s tight in the Z32 as well.  Good luck if you want to try it, but I\'d rather have something I can easily work on.  I still say the two best motors overall for an S12 are the CA18ET or the CA18DET (in the US anyway, not sure where you are).

Yeah i proabbly will end up going to the CA-DET route.

They are so cheap/plentful around here i could buy 5 CA18DET\'s by the time i\'d finish this ocnversion...

I\'m assuming that you\'re in Australia?  Yeah, I would say that you\'ll be happier with the CA18DET, better weight distribution, easier to work on, and still easy to get gobs of horsepower out of.
