Hey, does anyone here know much about the VG20E? i was thinking i could build a twin turbo VG20E, cause im guessing it would be physicly smaller than a VG30E? also it turns out i could proberly source one from a 2.0L Maxima... so if i could pick up a 2.0L maxima wreck it would have gearbox etc...

Any Thoughts?

I don\'t know much of anything about it, however I wouldn\'t count on it being physically smaller than the VG30E, usually engines within the same family use the same basic block, the 2 liter version probably just has smaller bores, and shorter stroke.  The external dimensions of the block are probably the same.

SheppS12 is in Australia - they get different motors over there sometimes compared to what we get in the states.

The VG20 may actually be smaller than a VG30. I know the VH41 is a little over 1 inch narrower than the VH45 at it\'s widest point (heads). Not sure if the difference is in the heads or the block.

My little brother has a VG20et sitting in the shed, from what I gather it is identical to the 30 bar the bore and stroke dimensions. And from what I remember of it (it\'s been covered up in the corner for more than a couple of years now) it shares the inlet plenum etc as well.
'85 IRS hatch, CA18DET, coil overs, big brakes, HKS turbo, FMIC, gutted interior, CIG locker, etc.

SWB soft top pajero, hose out spec interior, rear locker, 31's, fully sic dings and scratces :) Soon to be lifted with 33's

Nothing quite like practicality and comfort in a car........

thanks for the info!

I know the VG20ET was avalible in aus in the turbo charged maximas of the 80\'s, so was thinking if a VG20ETT would fit in the S12...

Thanks for the input!
