Some of you may or may not remember my old build thread, but to keep everyone in the loop my car started out as a mostly assembled sunset bronze metallic notchback that i bought out of a junkyard. The car has gone through alot of phases since December 2012, original plans of a 1uzfe all motor street car slowly turned into a fully gutted, caged, supercharged competition ready drift machine. I want to start a new thread to show everyone where the car currently sits and what ive been up to this winter.

I was wondering how this ended up.  SOOO happy to see it is still being loved/abused.  Last I recall you were having trouble with the blower belt slipping (eventually coming off) and you had modified the oil drain from the supercharger.  I assume both worked out for you.  Any details?  No more side exhaust? Good to see you back posting again!

I was afraid all the five gallon buckets of pain stacked four high were going to fall over

Hey dude! yeah everything has been going well. Ive worked the small things out of the supercharger setup for now. A small shim behind the pulley fixed the alignment issue and the drain seems to be holding up, havent seen any signs of case pressure or anything from the oil backing up. The side exaust i removed in an effort to get this car to pass tech, they want a rear exit not to mention i think my left ear has about 10% hearing loss from driving around on the street with the window down. Aside from replacing transmissions every couple of weeks and getting a few small sponsors along with vinyl on my car its been about the same since i last posted. This winter i moved so ive been a little strapped for time but ive still managed to get alot done on the car. This time around im focusing on making sure i have a bulletproof drivetrain, a solid front supension setup that will go lock to lock without rubbing any components, and a powerplant that will make a reliable 400hp.

2017 winter build

-CD009 transmission from a 2007 Infinity G35
-custom trans tunnel
-Standalone engine management
-300zx brakes
-dual caliper setup with new revised hydro handbrake incorporating a wilwood master cylinder
-s14 tension rod brackets allowing use of PBM angle kit (pro lower control arms)
-custom headers with 1.5 primaries/2.5 inch collectors and downpipes

So far ive made some really good progress by getting all of the big things out of the way. The transmission wasnt even close to fitting into this chassis so i cut what was needed (which turned out to be the whole tunnel) and fabricated a new one. After the motor and trans were in i set the trans to the 0 degrees ive always desired and fabricated a new crossmember. The best i could come up with for the crossmember was a piece of 2x3 steel which actually bolts up to the frame rails of the car. The CD trans was so wide i had to completely remove the old mounting point. I used angle iron with captive nuts welded to it then welded that to the frame rails.

Damn. Do work son!  I will never be able to do the custom drain setup that you did but I am very pleased to have the knowledge that it is working for somebody.  Vortech would send somebody to take my inventory away if they thought I endorse the idea.  You have a PM about that.  Good luck with the transmission issues.  It sounds like you have the solution sorted out.  Cant wait to see the result.

Have some more pics to dump into this thread of my progress. Transmission tunnel came out nicely i used sheet metal from a shelving unit and put some beads in it for strength.  I would have liked it to be one piece but conforming it to the firewall isnt an easy task. After tacking the first main piece in I decided at that point might as well make a couple filler pieces to go around it rather than starting from scratch again. Over all im content with the outcome of the tunnel, it seems to clear all the transmission bolts even the top 2 that are usually impossible to get without tilting the transmission back. I will be picking up the driveshaft tommorow so i can finally see how it clears the floor. With the trans sitting at 0 degrees the tailshaft seal is almost as high as the floor so i purposely left the tunnel unfinished in case i need to extend it further back.

First time trying to fabricate headers..Started with ebay 2uzfe Tundra headers that i bought for 150 bucks. After finding out that the fitment wasnt even close on the drivers side from the steering shaft I decided to start chopping them up. I cut all the primaries shorter on the driver side to hug the block but quickly decided that wasnt the best way to go about it. Not only will the primaries be insanely short but trying to re weld stainless to an already out of the box warped flange didnt sound too appealing. The thought of making custom mid-length or longtube headers has always intimidated me and that was just the motivation i needed to fully commit to the idea. Ordered a 1.5 inch header kit from speedway motors then salvaged the flange and collector from the ebay headers. It sucked running each individual primary to where i wanted it and also keeping an eye on the studs to make sure i could get a socket on the 14mm nut that holds the flange to the head. What ultimately worked was having a deep 3/8ths socket with a 3 inch extension on it close by to check clearance and accessibility to the nuts. I ran two pipes in between the shaft and block and the other two around the outside. The collector is 2.5 inch which is a huge upgrade from the 1 and 7/8ths ones on the factory log manifolds so im expecting some good mid range gains. The flange i chopped down the middle as a remedy to the warping i saw in it out of the box. After it was all tacked up i bolted it to a factory manifold to use as a jig to hold straight while welding.

z32 brake upgrade!
Re drilled the rotors so i can retain the xxr 16x8 wheels up front.

I really admire you ability to fabricate. I have neither the skills nor the tools to do something like that.
