Under those circumstances...go for it. If it is only the NA motor...it's not gonna be super satisfying...but still original....if it's the TT motor...holy biscuit gravy!. Either way,...forget the haters and do what you think will be cool...

Aren't the 13b engines from the rx7 which has a horrible reliability record in the engine department?

there's a guy here in town with a SWEET 13b 200sx, but its an s110, not an s12. Custom mounts and driveshaft as well as wiring. Not terribly complex.
I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence.

Think of it this way. Way less wieght upfront, and the weight that is up there is back furthur behind the x member. If it is tt, go single turbo set up. If its NA go webers or something. There is only a couple people that can rebuild/port rotaries in the states with good results. So if it does blow up in most cases your better off looking for an new one...but if you can find em cheap who cares they will take no time to swap out if you do the swap right. If you switch it to webers there goes over half you wiring right there!!!

being an rx7 person i can tell you they are only unrelaible when modded incorectly....

the NA motors are very reliable

a turbo motorscan be aswell, however what kills 90% of them is impropertuning, leaning out and detonation will kill a rotary engine VERY quickly!

hey man I guess it's relative but I think the 13b is a great motor. if you can make it work go for it. I have always been awed by the rotory motor. fires six times per rotation, thats just cool.

wow, there is alot of people in here saying alot of hear say about rotarys , unless you own one you prolly don't know what you are talking about,

I think it would be a sweet swap.

go for it.

and there is ALOT of people in the states who can port a rotary,
I am one of them,

I ported my ols s4 n/a motor, and made 160whp w/ only intake exhaust and a small street port,

if you know what you are doing you can easily/safely get a 13b n/a to around the 250whp range.

but if you are doing a full custom swap I say find a 13bt motor!

Peer pressure!  Do it!  that would be sick.

And for all those haters... They just have to realize that the Silvia did have a rotary engine in it at one time.  It was the S11.  Same time as the Mazda Cosmo (I think).  It failed in sales and wasnt that good in producing numbers, so Nissan canned it and replaced the engine with a LZ (?) and renamed it the S110.

I think it's a cool idea.

the most important thing to do tho when porting an rotary engine is to also port the oil passages. Like has been said tho, there is only an couple people in the states who can rebuild/port/build rotary engines to crazy numbers and be reliable.

yes, i was talking about that pineapple racing. My step dad has an 12a built by rob and will soon have an 3 rotor fd monster which the engine will be completly built by him. Rob is the premier rotary guy on the west coast if not the states hands down. His rotary powered pickup/s can smoke corvettes any day of the week.

im buying a RE 13b with like 20,000 miles on it for about 1200 including shipping and it comes with turbos, intercooler, wiring harness, 5 spd tranny, blah blah blah everything seems like a good deal to me anyway best deal ive found so far im thinking it might be alot more feesable to go na with carburetor then turbo and fuel injected and all that jub jackin mumbo jumbo jibber jabbin jive

its always been my fantasy of having a s12 with a 20b in it. lately i have found some really good prices on low mileage ones too bad im so fucken broke as a joke. if anyone wants one they can be had for about 3000 problem is usually they come with the tranny thats auto but i found one with engine only so u can put a manual on it for only 2250 at flashoptions.com a really cool website with the cheapest engine prices ive seen yet

rotary engines are superior engines and they only get better in my opinion the new renesis engine is the best engine ever made
