Ca-det W/auto Tranny

What needs to be done to make a ca18det with auto tranny work with my 5 spd "B" tranny?
I found a front clip with auto tranny for pretty cheap, but I need to know what needs to be done, or should I just spend a little more $$ and get a det that is already set-up for a 5 spd.
Only thing that I could think of that might be a problem would be the ECU???

I do not know off the top of my head if the ecu would be an hurdle or not. I would if I was you go and look on ebay and see how much ecus are going for...so you can get an idea of the worse case scenario. If it doesnt off set your budget to bad...then go for it, try to make it work with the auto ecu...if it doesnt then buy another one. The only real refrence i have for wether or not it will work is this tid bit i learned over on nwn. KA/S13 manual guys occasionally swap to the automatic ecu because it has no rev limiter and has no other effect on the performance of the engine. If that doesnt make you feel any less curious...I would try asking on nico...someone over there might have an solid answer.

The importer got back to me and said pretty much the same thing as you....he said only thing I might have to wire in would be the neutral safety switch, but he wasn't sure.
Other than that he didn't know about if there might be a difference between the ca-det auto fly wheel and starter....but I would just use my ca-et flywheel, starter and clutch...right?

i Know that my 20e flywheel wouldnt mount to the det because they have an different number of bolts. My starter and clutch off the 20e bolted up just fine to the flywheel tho because other then the number of bolts holding it to the block they are almost identical. Since it is an auto it shouldnt even have an flywheel(correct me if i am wrong.). So I would look to see how much flywheels are going for on ebay, i know i have seen them up on there before.

need, DET clutch and flywheel (I might have spares) and DET starter. ET/E starter has different # of teeth. Bolts up ok, but I wouldn't run it. I have a spare one of those too.

Auto ECU will run just fine, actually its been rumored that it runs better (more agressive timing map to deal with crappy slushbox) so yay. Reuse your s12 lower wiring harness and it will work fine too

I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence.

hmmm....i didnt count the teeth on the starter....i might have to go back and look at it....my flywheel looked like it had identical teeth tho to my 20es...maybe because my engine is wierd.

thats right........I forgot the flywheel has different teeth/bolt pattern, but I thought the ca-et clutch worked with the ca-det flywheel?
Seems like someone said that a KA flywheel works too...is this true?   What about a ca18de flywheel and starter?
Any other disadvantages with getting a ca-det with auto?

i have one of those off my 20e also...i dont see why it wouldnt work considering my b tranny is bolted to it and the flywheel surfaces looked identical. But then again my flywheel could be different from an normal 18det flywheel.

Alright......so what I'm gathering is that I have to use a det 5 spd fly wheel, and det 5 spd starter??  Ca18et 5 spd starter bolts up, but no one can confirm that it will crank a ca18det due to different number of teeth?  Ca-det Auto tranny starter won't work with 5 spd?
And there are NO other usdm starters or fly wheels that will work?

If infact I HAVE to use a 5 spd det flywheel, and starter, are there any companies selling them within the U.S.?  Stock or aftermarket?

C'mon people......someone MUST know what starter will work on a ca18det, besides a ca18det starter.  There's gotta be a U.S. starter that works
