What Belts?
« on: 08:24:13 PM / 29-Oct-06 »
I looked up the part numbers listed in the "cross over parts" thread for the p/s, alt, and a/c belts, and none of them would pull up on Autozone's site or parts america.

The part numbers listed on here and Nico are............

Alt Belt 4pk855
PS Belt 4pk845
AC Belt 4pk840

Are they  the same belts as the '88 Pulsar ca18de????

Part numbers listed for the ca18de on Autozone are.........

GATORBACK
Poly-V P/S  4040365

GATORBACK
Poly-V alt  4040275

GATORBACK
Poly-V A/C  4060345

I'm trying to get a jump on things and pre-buy everything I need so I have it all before my motor arrives.

Any help would be great..........and if I missed it somewhere let me know, and I'll delete this thread.

I need an alternator belt...I was just going to ask for an 18de pulsar one. I dont see why the pulsar 18de ones wont work. I also dont understand why the part numbers in the cross over parts list didnt come up, and weren't just pulsar belts to begin with.

haha since I made the crossover list, I should know the answer. But I don't off the top of my head. sorry...

for p/s use an 88 ca20e belt. I just put one on my ca18det. I'll get you a/c and alternator #'s later from my car.

ca18de pulsar stuff won't work because p/s and a/c and alternator (I think all 3) are on different sides of the motor. mk2 ca20e stuff should work for all 3 belts.

Interesting................are MK2 belts different than MK1's?  Are they different than the ca18et belts?

What brand part numbers are the ones listed on Nico and here on the cross over list?  Can't seem to find those part numbers.

Looks like you can plug these numbers in on NAPA's website, and they will cross reference to NAPA part numbers....only weird thing is, they come up as serpentine belts.  Shouldn't they use V-belts.....or does it not matter?  Also...........what vehicle application are these belts for???

the ca18et in my driveway uses v-belts. and they won't work on your serpantine belt ca18det pullies.

which is why i say mk2 ca20e. because it uses serpantine belts too...

about the part #'s I haven't tried all of them, many were emailed to me or collected on nico and added to the sticky, so take them with a grain of salt. They "should" be accurate, but its not guaranteed.
