No the pipe is not nessissary, he's just trying to sell his stuff, and as i understand this is not an advertisement thread.
3 motors later i'm finally starting to think about settling down.

I was just joking. and it is just piping. cold pipe is just a term used to describe the location of the pipe. after the intercooler is the cold pipe. and I was not talking to you purplestuff.

ah i see, i thought that maybe the term referred to some type of cooling on the pipe that keeps IAT down. I have a welder and access to a mandrel bender so i will be doing all the intercooler and exhaust piping myself (horray for side exit )

I wish I had access to a mandrel bender. I have to buy all my bends and then weld them up. it will really cut cost for you to have that hook up.
no place any where close to here has one. every exhaust shop just has regular benders. who do you know that has a mandrel bender? I am actually in need of some pipe. may be you could ship me a j bend or 2.

are you sure its a mandrel bender. thats not some thing a mechanic would have in his shop normally. they are several thousand dollars. I would think he has a regular hydraulic bender. I just searched around a little  on google and the cheapest mandrel bender I could find that would do 3 inch tube was 39,500. I guess he could have lucked in to one for cheaper though used.

maybe your right, it might be a hydraulic one, i havent seen it yet. Either way it will allow me to have smoothly bent tubing for my intake plumbing and exhaust.

I've never seen anyone with a combo like that. Looks like you were trying to go for low quick spool up and very high end. How was that combo anyhow?

I never ran them in my car. bought them used. he said it really helped the turbo spool with the long duration on the exhaust cam. I guess Doug will be able to tell you how they work out. he says he wants them. I am going to go with 272's on both intake and exhaust since thats what I used before. I have seen a lot of the sr guys running the 264 272 combo.
he should end up with a really quick spool. I think the setup will work well for him.

get a blown one off of zilvia or some thing then do a full build. I see lots of them on their with low compression for sale. you could probably do it that way for less money. if I was to do it all over again thats what I would do. then I would have a built bottom end now. I wasted my money getting a full front clip.

not to say that it cant be done but I would like to know his setup. and details about what turbo and engine management he is running. I am sure it is possible but it would be very easy to hurt the engine with that much boost going in it. detonate one time and it would be done. If I remember correctly the most rwhp on a stock block sr was around 550. defiantly not trying to say the guy you know isnt pushing it that high. just curious cause I have a stock block sr making 400 rwhp @ 20psi . with just a rom tune and afc2 for management.
