On Apr 11 2005, My dream came true when I got my sr20det. The happiest moment of my life and by far an awesome feat. But then, life thru challenges, financial debt, relationship problems, school academics, and lost of job heavily delayed it to its completion. I need money and time to put in to this but had someelse running in the background. Finally, after  some discussions with wankelmonkey and arro, I realized that this has delayed lond enough. It was time to raise and take up what need to be done.

Maya sat in my garage for a year now. It was time to do a heart transplant. The likes that  will blow way any doubt of pushing over 400hp. This is my project.

Currently she's on stands and the engine in two pieces. The head was extruded honed, alunium drive shaft in process, block being bored & honed, and other kickass stuff. I'm replacing the dash with a black one for a turbo 200sx found 5 months ago. Had to clean it up and check for anything out of the ordinary.

Prepping to take it out.

Ready to be installed.

Had my valve cover painted to black stardust. Fuckin uncle kickass.

Got my headers & down pipe ceramic coated.

That's my progress so far. I have posted before in SR section check that out too.

Looks like it's going to be one of the nicest S12s here. Really clean with a SR.

Dig the kick plate on the door.

LonelyS12

sweet shit! do you still have that wing on your car?

i c u breakin' your neck     ;P

Arro

So Marvin, what are you going to do next???

Time to stop fussing with the parts, and hook you up an engine builder to help you guide it to completion

That way while you're waiting on that, you can work on the dash and the transmission swap.

its all in the details. having a car that one would be proud of goes beyond stock oem type parts and putting that special touch on it

"like people, every car possesses a unique character, with its own DNA, talents, and idiosyncrasies. push it too hard and it'll turn on you, as a person would. if its worth anything, it gets more interesting the more you get to know it"

luck is earned through hard work and determination, not to mention the willingness to take risks and to see bad luck and setbacks as opportunities for growth and a new direction.

nismo200sx16

get this project moving Marvin.I want to see a 400hp srs12 representing on the west coast. if I wasn't on the other side of the country I would   be their helping you assemble that sr.

Arro

The only help he needs is a swift kick in the ass lol... he has people on this side of the US that have offered to help him, with advice, with the work, whatever. Right now, he knows what he *should* do next with this, but now he just needs to do it. I agree, I'd like to see him finish his dream.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not being an asshole about it here... Marvin and I are friends outside of S12's... I like this guy, great friend, loyal, fun as hell in a bar. He just needs to get his car done, by any and all means necessary. The more we bug him, the more likely he will finish this project

Thanks jason jackass for the bitch support.

I've hooked up with a couple of SR ppl during the weekend and gotten the info I need and support plus the ppl on this board. I will complete this by june with high hopes. While the dash is out, I'll be swapping the auto to s13 manual pedals too.

hahah with much luv, buddy

I may have to come up there, too, for a weekend, to help you work on some of it, if you need a pair of hands. I want to come up there anyways to get the shocks, and hopefully bring the Gregster with me.

Maybe we can get a lot of the little stuffs done to the car while the three of us are there. Six hands, tools, and beerz is a good formula.

Count me in, if you'd like to do it before June   I'd like to check this thing out and give a hand

For the newer guys, this car has always been one of the nicer examples on this site, very clean.  Its gonna be hella badass when it hits the road, with that engine you've got going in there!

Arro

Actually to date, Marvin's notch has been the slickest one I've seen on this site so far, in it's prime.... there are plenty of nice notches on here, but his was my favorite even before I met him.

Actually, his wing is also the only time I've thought a wing would be a benefit on these cars, because it cancelled out the air eddies from the notch shape.

I pulled the dash out of my '84 turbo without anyone helping... it wasn't easy but I did it. I removed the glove box, and then the tape deck section, and then the steering column covers. Do that, and you should be able to get the thing free. The biggest bitch are the electrical connectors.

What you've done is the easy part, but you can still get the dash out. Sterling can probably offer more advice based on those pics, he says he's removed the dash a couple dozen times or more, and called it "cake" if I remember correctly.

yeah taking it out isn't to bad. their is that big plug that connects all the dash wires to the car. unplug that and most of the wires come out with the dash.

I'm hoping the LSD can manage all that torque that I'm gonna be throwing at it. I've heard of other ppl's demise on their diffs when over torquing. My friend's cousin's cousin's boyfriend's cousin's friend destroyed his diff on a miata.

On the dash, you're lookin real good there, there are a few screws that run tight up to the bottom of the windshield glass.  I think a socket or wrench fits in there, don't remember off hand, but if you got the phillips screws out thats a great start b/c those are a bitch.  Look for bolts with 10mm threads, there should be a few splattered across the top, two on each side by the door opening, one located by the strip of lights on the passenger side, some where the gauges were, and a few located where the radio is with all those brackets.  When its all said and done, it will be mostly loose but there may be some wiring hanging it up, that is strapped in all the way forward.  Try and disconnect the Super Multiple Junction (big plug w/bolt, pass side) and feed whatever wires are sticking out of the holes in the dash back through.  Labeling is highly recommended.  Good luck, I think my first dash took me a few hours   Now, probably less than an hour.  Full chassis, dash and engine harness removal in about 3 lol...

After three hours of pulling, reaching, and just out right slaughtering my old dash, I FINALLY GOT IT OUT.   FUCKIN NISSAN, WHY THE FUCK DID U ZIP TIE THE FUCKIN WIRES TO THE INSIDE DASH?   WHY? This scratched and cut up my hands pretty badly.   ANOTHER THING WHY IS EVERYTHING CRAMPED UP IN THERE? SPACE THAT SHIT OUT! GGRRRAAA!!!!

Sorry guys but that pissed me off and kinda destroyed the old dash. Ok ok here's da pics.
