Well, just thought to share this with you guys. I've done almost everything now, it runs but still need to ajust the timing - have some troubles with it now, but cannot complete it because of lack of time (stupid job & biketrials competitions, lol!  )

The first engine arrived:

 Taken it pretty cheap anyway

 )

Still need to ajust the timing, make a proper intake piping, hide all the wiring to look nice, clean everything from rust, change the doors (mine is rusty all over), paint the car, check the suspension... oh maaan, I am all depressed now after I writtel all this to do, lol!

If you have all the parts needed then engine assembly takes 2 full days (1 day if you have the proper tools for valves with springs installation  ), and 2 more days for the swap itself (put the old engine out and place the new one at it's place). And then 1 day for wiring. So I'd say, that if you have all the parts for engine maintenance (gaskests and seals) then you'll need a little less then a week of time. Much faster, if you don't plan to take the new engine apart before swapping.

Very Nice!

How hard was it to get a CA18DET in Ukraine?

Man those are some dirty engines. Glad to see you got it in and sorta working. I noticed you have to keep the throttle going for it to stay on.

Your throttle body coupling seems to be the stock coupling for the ca18det/sr20det and you had it cut to fit in the intercooler pipe. You are most likely experiencing a major boost leak right there which will also you car to idle just like how it is now in your video.

Good job nonetheless!

CA18DET is not hard to find in Ukraine. It's hard to get one in good condition...
This one is pretty worn out inside, but I'm planning to build another engine with forged pistons and stuff... Just need to get more money, lol!

The car idles normally now - I have found few unplugged vacuum pipes later, lol!  I need to fabricate somehow the intercooler piping... but I don't have a spare 500-600 $USD to make it at the shop, and I'm not a welder...  But I think that welding is a good skill to have, so maybe I'll try something out later
