My valve cover came painted black... like from asphalt when i got the motor from Attarco years back.

awesome build up Jason. Keep us updated!

Arro

What is next on the list...

1-piece driveshaft
Master cylinder replacement
Slave cylinder replacement
Exhaust downpipe (current one doesn't connect)
AIT sensor
New brakes & rotors

After that I can say it's roadworthy, I hope.

i like those rims on it. one of the more tasteful looking s12 rim combos ive seen on this site

oh, and id paint the engine bay to match the body color. it looks sloppy otherwise.

Considering that the engine is already in and such, plus he'd have to hit all the door jams as well. The inverse of what you say will most likely happen.

obviously. but its not my car so its not up to me. i just would have taken the time to get it matched up before doing the swap

^I agree with your viewpoint, but always wanted to return it to red, so I would have sooner repainted the bay red than matched the exterior paint. As it is, the engine bay cleaned up so well, that I'm even more resolute in my intentions to repaint the car red. Greg knew that, he was just being coy

But yeah, I can't stand cars that have mismatched engine bays and door jambs, which is why when someone says they want to paint their white or red car some other color, I generally tell them not to. Black, grey, and silver are about the only colors that look "okay" mismatched, and even then it's ghetto.

So red this car will be (once again), which is why my sig pic has a red Mark 1

(don't worry, I'm not ghetto, Julie lol)

oh and thanks for the compliments on the wheels, too bad I have to re-powdercoat one of them to repair some scratches that drunk partiers at Premo's apparently left all over the face of the rear passenger wheel (again I didn't think Premo himself did it)

theres too many red s12s in the community already. wouldnt it be more fun to keep it that teal color and be different?

It won't exactly be red, either   Keep the wheels in mind

It runs and drives well, but needs the old gas run out of it.  The early 95 factory-ecu-controlled electric fans even come on as intended.  More pics and such in a few weeks

OMG, Sterling runs! But does he drive well?

How ya feeling man, any better? Did Henry drool on your shoulder while you went to town on his wiring harness?

idk, I was too concerned about getting it up to the storage spot and not having it die.  I think it will be ok, but we'll see.

Oh yea, your list of the stuff this thing needs is tragically short, add a radiator (think its leaking), rad. hoses, a battery that ISNT for a LAWNMOWER, tires that aren't cracked to shit, new belts, and other various little shit I'm forgetting atm.  But yeah, a huge improvement from before lol
Sterling Picton

seishuku

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that battery! Not like you'll have to deal with winter anymore.

Its not the CA/CCA, which are actually quite good, but more the fact that the battery construction itself may not be worthy of prolonged underhood desert climate heat.  The last thing you would want would be a battery exploding, an underhood fire would ruin another one of J's cars lol!

Oh yea, I did pick up the PS fitting that I was missing, so that end of it is complete.

Well I would have the battery by now but those Odysseys are back-ordered. Sucks!

I'm picking up the car next weekend... Sterling, PM me their phone number number so I can coordinate with the nice folks that have sheltered this puppy for so long.

Can dry-cell batteries explode?
I don't think the temps would be enough to affect it though, since your average car battery can take the heat as well...
