Biggest Motor Ever??
« on: 07:51:59 PM / 21-Nov-08 »
Ive been searching the forums through just curious what the biggest motor ever put in an S12 was... Seems like it was a 350ci sbc, but not confirmed. Anyone know, just see what it takes to hold the title...

I remember seeing pics of the chevy 350, and as far as I know that's the biggest.

Confirmed biggest is the VH45 4.5L Nissan/Infinity V8, though I don't think it ever actually moved under it's own power.

New 2 Drifting put a sbc(small black Chevy for those that don't know(*cough* Jeff *cough*)) in his S12, on a different note, he was banned from the forums for something.

It was Premo that had the project with the 302 out of a Mustang.  To my knowledge, he spent loads of money and mainly time on the project and eventually sold it off before it was finished if I remember correctly.

And Jeff, it called a 5.0 because its displacement is 5L.  5l is bigger than 4.5l. and the N2D used a sbc 350 which is 5.7l, so... um... yeah... the VH45DE is the logical choice to top that list.

Between the SBC and the Ford 302, you'll get more bang-for-buck out of the SBC considering overall weight and size.  The VH45DE is nice, but its probably a decently expensive build.

I had my build thread on another site, so I'll just link you that page.
