Its been a rough road and to be honest a responsible adult would've sold off this project long ago and paid off some debt.

Decided to put this in the S12 Garage instead of Gallery cuz they're all project pics.

Heres my first Gallery thread.  Shows the car when I first got it.

Here she is!  Finally made it to Vegas.  Tearin it down a bit.

Block-off for AC idle up crap.

TDC

The world famous girdle and piston oil squirters!

Views of upper and lower intake mani

Head bolt.  10mm Allen.  didnt like using 3/8 drive instead of 1/2 but couldnt find 10mm allen in 1/2 drive

head gasket collection and numbers from auto x

Clean Clean

head gasket for CA18DE. Better than CA20E/CA18ET gasket

Cleaning chambers

Holy oil pan dent batman!  Fixed it.

Had the original timing belt on still

been sittin for a while

Upon reassembly my dumb ass did this.. snapped exhaust cam.  CA16DE cams from junkyard (lucky find) dropped in later.

Last time it was CA20E powered

engines and parts everywhere

Some love from Henry.  8x5 900lb.  THANKS HENRY!!!

XS Power header and dump pipe off ebay wrapped and sprayed.  Euro T25G.  Same as J-spec except for the built-in slip-on compressor inlet.  Oh and new house with bigger garage now too.

Simple vac setup

Not yet..

Almost..

OH YEAH!!

Hockey puck motor mounts.  You can see the dent in my crossmember from drift gone wrong into dirt bank.  Big rock hiding in that dirt.

2" Gauges set into dash. A lot harder to do than it looks but worth it.

Headliner gone

Harness laid out.  THANKS DAVE!!!

Last pic for today.  Shows charge pipe done and in as well as Maxima fans in and the fan harness done.  More pics of those things to come.  Myspace wont let me upload more pics right now and I'm too lazy to manually resize them all lol.

The one good thing about my car was a brand new oil pan. Still got the jdm oem stickers on it.  Too bad the rest was a pile of junk, but soon to be on the road.  I think I'll stop by vegas sometime. I know for sure SD then SF. I guess Vegas and then Seattle are next on my list.

My interior is pretty well the same to with only a couple minor differences

HAHA IDK how fast its really gonna be.  Hoping for good things though.  Will be on stock boost for a while to begin with.  For the crossmember I think imma drop the whole front out of a S13 when I have funds.  IIRC the S13 crossmember bolts up.  No plans set in stone just yet.. or ever lol

The IACV or AAC or IAV or whatever (dont feel like looking it up) doesnt control cold start.  The air regulator handles that.  Still have the air reg but I was gonna delete it too and just run the TB stop screw slightly open.  High idle all the time lol.

Gonna do another photo dump soon.

Anybody kno why these quotes not working?  Too many in one post mayb?

Heres some info about it and I kick myself for not getting pics of the flywheel/clutch install.

Engine
-JDM spec CA18DET (duh) Internally Stock
-CA16DE cams (more low and mid range from the intake cam being different which is not what I really want to build for but they were available)
-Just got another CA18DET exhaust cam so that will be going in the intake side before long (Will pull hard to 8000rpm redline which is what I do want to build for.)  Mayb I'll wait till my 500mi oil change/head re-torque to change it.
-Got extra set of A+ condition valve covers from Dave (THANKS DAVE!!) to strip and polish.  Whoo Hoo!  Not on yet.  Will do that when I swap the intake cam.
-Euro Spec T25G
-XS Power SS exhaust mani, dump pipe, down pipe, cat delete.  Only using mani and dump for now.  Header wrapped them.  Stock turbo S12 downpipe from sideways_s12 (THANKS JASON!!!) to mate to stock exhaust.  Will be swapping to mani/dump/down/decat and thats it.
-DIY 3" short charge pipe with 1G DSM BOV.  Yes thats correct.  NON-INTERCOOLED.  Water Injection!!  But not yet.  So no running over 10psi til I can get that setup in.  Or mayb I'll just tune to rich so I can boost to 15psi.
-Maxima electric rad fans relayed and switched on with a MK1.5/MK2 AC fan thermoswitch.  (THANKS SPUNNION FOR THE SWITCH!!)

Drivetrain
-CA trans that came with it
-Fidanza 9.5lb aluminum flywheel for SR20DET (actually weighed in at 9lbs and did not have to grind the inside of the bellhousing. Dont know why but who cares right)
-Ebay 6-puck unsprung clutch for SR20DET (haterz be damned lol)
-MK2 turbo gear reduction starter (THANKS AGAIN SPUNNION!!)
-"Earl's" braided SS front brake line for 280zx used for clutch line into slave cylinder/clutch dampener delete.  IIRC I got it from theZstore.com.  I just emailed them bout it and took care of the whole thing through emails.  Cheap and easy.
-Ebay "C's" style short shifter for 240sx (simple install and shift motions feel awesome.)
-Custom 1 peice driveshaft
-DIY welded diff (R180 with 4.10 gears original to the car)

Tuning and Gauges
-2x 2" Equuis gauges set into dash right under cluster.  Boost and lame-o A/F.
-Old school APEX-I AFC.  1 knob and a bunch of LEDs

Chassis and Suspension
Stripped to the bone.  Stock suspension for now.  Plans are S13 front with coilovers and previously seen 900lb springs from Henry and undecided type of foxbody shocks for rear.

Not sure if I forgot anything.  Oh well will add later as I go.

Thanks to David B for the oil pressure sending unit fitting.  My dumbass left it on the junked CA20E.

Got a good condition SE kit minus mudflaps from Jom (THANKS JOM!!!) and SE mudflaps from sideways_s12 (THANKS AGAIN JASON!!)  Not sure when/if I'm gonna be putting the kit on.  Looks good but adds weight.  Tough tough decision.

Comms and Crits welcome

Welding the diff is not for everyone.  It has its pros, but it makes parking a bitch.  I'm sure you knew that or you wouldn't have done it.

looking at your sig pic, whats with the wheels? they look wide, low offset type, they're not the originals are they?
Sterling Picton

IggyEGuana

HAHA yeah thats from my first AUTO-X.  I had a blow out on the way there.  I thought i was gonna just be a spectator so I was talkin to peeps and I was talking to this guy with a 240z and he let me use his "towing" set for the event.  Luckily I had registered anyways so it was just a matter of making a mad dash to swap the wheels and get into tech.  I was technically late but they were nice people.  As for the wheels yes I did ask.  They are a custom set from Pete Paulsen.
http://www.petepaulsen.com/
Unfortunetly I neglected to check out the specs on the wheels.  I was a bit stoked to be able to run the event.  They seemed to be 15x8 -0 though.
