Do I Need The Egr Valve
« on: 12:40:10 PM / 13-Nov-08 »
ok so i have a black top s13 sr20det and it has a big ugly egr valve right next to the vavle cover, and it has all lines and run to a charcoal canister. i would love nothing more than to get rid of it. is it possible to remove it without hurting any other systems on the motor?

I don't think it should hurt anything. I kept EGR on mine, because it doesn't harm anything, either. It's not really a performance gain to remove it, but yeah it does simplify stuff cuz you can clean more crap out of the engine bay.

BTW where are you, are you here in the States?

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

You must only have a sniffer test?

I donno, I would keep it, though I've seen them pass with out any emissions other than a cat.

Maybe just wrap it in some fancy heat wrap, just to hide it?
