Kazu Has Cancer :(

So Saturday night I finally was able to pull the CA20 for the last time!  However after the surgery I noticed that it was very beneficial that I did pull it.  As it would turn out there is a 12" piece of cancer on the lower strut tower seam and a 6" on the front vertical strut seam.  I must warn the following pictures are graphic.  The repair to follow...



















The upper relay bracket was still in place so no pics of it yet but more to come

Drivers fender is now gone...I have three sets of them   I have to ditch the drivers side Macpherson so that I can get a clean spot to weld   Then the cutting begins.  I'm so glad this is not my daily anymore.  As for motorvation yes it is going to be another KA swap.  I am getting pretty good at it now that I also put one into a Corolla...lol

From the front it sorta looks like an S12 eh...

nice! I went for a ride awhile back in a 18det ae notch and the guy said he knew where a couple of ka aes where for cheap that he was tempted to pick up just because of how fun they are. I love my ka s12 notch tho... Things just need to stop braking on it!

Aren't things supposed to break on them; I must have gotten the wrong model.  You are in the growing pains part of the new S12.  Get this stuff fixed and then it should be clear sailing...*quickly knocks on wood*

lol...i am well aware of having to shake down 80s cars to get the bugs out...but it is so annoying...hopefully after getting the caliper fixed i can go back to hooking up the rest of my gauges and driving this thing. Oh, I eventually need to hook my cd deck up also...hah.

That LOOKS cool, but is a terribly bad idea lol.  A single exhaust leak and your risking your life.

dude and i thought my Z31 rust was bad, that S12 takes the cake, it by far surpasses my Z31 in rust.

I feel better about my Z31 rust and over coming it. thank you i needed that. I was tossing up the idea of buying a clean n/a shell and swapping everything over, but i don't need to, mines is bad but fixable.

The Corolla is a rally car and that how they done it in the 80's.  it works...no leaks and it can't get torn off

As for this S12...it really isn't that bad compared to what I have fixed on S12's in the past.  At least my frame rails are ok.  small holes in the rear rockers but also fixable.  The bad one was KAS12 #2  it had the drivers side strut collapse through the hood at a drift event a couple years back.  That one was fun to fix!

So I noticed after Jason gave me trouble  that the last time that I updated this was back in October.  Well since then I have done quite a bit, and here is the state of it.  In fact these are even a bit old because it is not back ready for the road minus the insurance bit.  So without further waiting here is Kazu updated.

paint the primed area so you don't get rust again, and if the master cylinder is still leaking get it replaced as thats what damaged that area.
