Spam Attacks

I've noticed that recently we've become popular enough to warrant spammers.. you know, those people who should be shot for posting things that nobody in the world gives two shits about.

Anyways, I'm going to see what we can do... maybe put new registration on manual validation or something. I just wanted you all to know we're aware of it.

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

theres a thing another forum does for that.

example:

what company produces the 240SX? http://www.jdmsouth.com/forums/register.php?do=signup

and every month it would change.

i banned all mail.ru email accounts on midwestsilvia.com.

Also, I banned the IP address's first 3 octets, as I got like 20 of those spam accounts all at once.  IP Addresses range is 194.8.75.*

The 194. part threw me off at first, because I thought all 194. addresses were reserved for LAN IP's.  HOWEVER, It is a valid public Class C type IP Address.

My question to you admins is... How did they get to do this in the first place? They spammed me through your site. I didn't want to come back here till I had finished my ride, if not for the e-mail I got from here saying that I had been PMed. I'm not blaming you guys at all. All I'm saying is that your security may be compromised to some extent. I have a 6 year old girl that is quickly becoming a very avid smarty pants on the computer. And yes, I've implemented parental controls, but kids are kids and technology is their game. That's all I'm saying. I'm glad that it wasn't any one making fun, considering my history here. LOL!

haha, no its not the site admins fault, its phpbb and invision power boards fault.  The people who write the software for these systems are not focusing on spam at this time, but more on how they can improve the posting parts.
