Keith's New Engine Bay Pics
« on: 10:40:13 AM / 16-Oct-09 »
So I finally got off my ass and whipped my engine bay into shape since I installed the Bartco header.....
I painted the valve covers, painted the intercooler pipes, put my CAI back into service, modified and polished up the fan shroud.  Should keep me satisfied for a month or 2
I need to get matching silicone couplers and replace the blue silicone vac hoses for some black silicone vac hoses, since the blue kinda clashes with the new blue valve covers...so that will probably be the next thing....anyway, on to the pics!

Looks too clean to drive lol!
Im a color bitch and I think you should go with red instead of blue but thats a minor thing. The shiny parts, including the shield plate you did yourself looks very good. Where is the turbo bag from?

Thanks guys....

Red what..hoses and couplers?  With the blue valve covers?  I'll have to think about that one....
Thats not a bag on the turbo..it's a heat shield that bart made to fit my 16g.  I just added some heat shield tape to the top and bottom of it

hey Keith, that is looking tops!

all you need now is to get Bart to make you up a custom alloy overflow bottle to complement the rest of the car!

job well done so far!

That would be sweet......I do think an aluminum s13 overflow tank will work with minor mods.  Someone on here has one...Henry maybe?  Like this one....

thanks fella's

Boost kicks in a little higher than the t25g....maybe 3000-3200?  Biggest thing I notice is if the rpms are too low, like if I have it in 3rd doing 25mph, and I punch it to get up on the fwy or something....boost takes forever to get going.  I'll have to downshift to 2nd to get moving....but if I keep the rpms up above 3000k boost is pretty instant.

yeah....just cut some flat bar, rounded the edges,  bent in vise to the right angle, drilled 4 holes, and polished them up.  Prety simple.  Took maybe 30 mins

The only thing with that ebay special is that it pressurizes, where as your stock is just an overflow.  I had that issue with the bings unit on my brothers S13 too.  If you drill a hole and put a vent with a filter (similar to those used in pneumatic systems it will work perfect...
