Stuck Muffler?
« on: 02:05:08 PM / 03-Apr-10 »
Need a new one but OEM mufflers don't really exist anymore. Going with an aftermarket but I can't find out what size I need. Any help?

Answer: 2 inches.

Editing the topic since I feel like I've been creating too many threads lately
:

Any tips for removing a stuck muffler? It's bolted on, not welded. I've got the clamp off, I'm just having trouble removing the muffler from the exhaust pipe. I've gotten it to budge a little bit. Should this be going so slowly?

they should have no trouble adapting whatever inlet sized muffler you bring in then.....just get a fart can or something (usually in the 2"-2.5" range) and have em weld'er on!

Magnaflow muffler sounds amazing on a VG.... nothing like a fartcan.

and yeah, any 2.5" inlet muffler can be mated to our stock pipes, most exhaust shops can do it.

THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.

Um, you have a welder and know how you use it?

You can get exhaust reducers at any Kragen, and if they don't have it in stock, they can order it.

ok. i didn't know if welding was involved or not. so clamps are a reliable alternative to welding?

Will do.

As far as reducers go... I'm having trouble finding anything that has 2.375 on one side. If that is the size.. I'm not sure what to do. I can get silicone reducers in that size, like for intakes. Would that be suitable for exhaust work? I can get them rated to 500 degrees.
