chain broke?? something tells me you need to walk away but if you can get compression/leakdown numbers, thatd be different, compression numbers never lie

duno how much trouble, probably easyer for you seing as your market had it as a stock option, at the very least youll need engine harness and ECU, ect...

I may be wrong but i think i remeber reading the CA and the FJ share the same bellhousing
if not ive got an extra trans i could send you a belhousing
gl friend, hope youve got deep pockets  i sure know i dont

I have an engine in a similar condition here. These are interference engines & all of my intake valves are bent, but the exhaust valves are ok. I'd also be worried about damage to pistons/pins/bearings.

The gearbox front housings are different so you will need the FJ front housing, but they're a direct swap. FJ20 parts are quite expensive, especially those timing chains & guides. Check here for some Aussie parts prices if you can't find them in the US - http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/

I'm moving this to the FJ section. "Hyrbid" is for one-off, or uncommon swaps (V8, RB, rotary, etc.).

If you want a solid, strong NA engine, go for it. But honestly if you want power, you want a turbocharged engine.

THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.

well, ill put it like this

if youve got deep pockets, you can do it, they aren't always cheap but if you look you can find stuff for them without too much

on a side topic, i've got an extra head, and i may have an extra set of rods and pistons...
if you need it i can oblige
NA motors can be turboed and make good power(iirc the best dynod fj20e+t ive seen is 318rwhp with boltons in a datto 510..., which for a stock motor is decent but not even breaking a sweat)ive also got a bellhousing to make it work
go standalone(insert: Megasquirt) and bam, you've got an fj with very few limits

but shpping would probably own you... i'm just sayin its here  and i have a few sources for cheap parts too
/plug

but i will say this, if i bought it, it would be for parts at the most, ether the head, valves, or pistons are fubar and you will be replacing some stuff, dont expect to drop it in and run with it
