Definitive Sr20det Swap Guide?
« on: 01:11:07 AM / 28-May-10 »
For the record, I have searched and examined several project threads.

I've got access to another S12 shell, and I would like to swap this one with an blacktop SR20det. I know the physical fitment, motor mounts, and the like will all work - but what really has me concerned is the wiring.

On S13's these motors are practically plug and play, but how so on the S12? What are some notable differences between the s13 and s12? I suppose I could compare the s12 KA24de swap guide to the SR20det -> s13 swap guide. However, I know if I had tried something like that for my RB swap I would have been left up shit creek without a paddle, just a bunch of shit.

Also, what are the chances of using a C transmission to avoid making any alterations to the driveshaft? I've read a number of threads indicating that swapping the bellhousings is a distinct possibility:

Any other known issues to look out for? Because if not, then I am going to go for it!

Cheeers!

Mmmm... Zombies.

Anywho, as far as swapping goes, it's nearly the same as a KA.
