wow. if the dog was already being put down or something, i dont see why we couldnt try to better our knowledge of what can and cant be done in the name of science.

yeah, i don't think they just went out and killed a random dog. A lot of the comments on the video sight are saying its inhumane, but i doubt they realy know the back story or anything, just fucking people being people. I hate how people over personify animals; that's more disturbing, in my eyes, than this video.

*not directed at anyone just a piece of my mind*

from a scientifc standstill. i bet this kind of reasearch could and has aided in re-animation of severed limbs.
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

Xano

actually if you look at the date this research was done, fyne, this researched helped enable organ transplants.

obviously we will never see this done to a human... has it been done? im sure it has been done. but thats some top secret frankenstein shit. and what about not cutting the head and doing it to a whole body? my guess is that its mainly nerves doing what they do, i doubt that dog knew it was even "alive" again. it was merely mimicing what it did in life, because of muscle memory.

If you look at the history of Nazi Germany, there were countless human vivisections and experiments done.  Pregnent women, unborn live fetuses, limb detatchment, healthy organ transplants - a dizzying, sickening and mindumbing array of general human medical experimentation.  Disgusting. Repugnant.  Horrifying.

It advanced medical knowledge by at least 50 years, if not closer to 100 years worth of knowledge.

Its not because it was a dog, its because this stuff scares the shit outta me. Its the mental side more then the physical side on the subjects behalf.

Isn't the actions of the lungs and heart controlled by nerve impulses from the brain? It's crap.

^ I'm with you. In a way its a great thing. But the scary side is; the basis of this type of research is usually pervured to man's sadistic lust towards immortality. In turn the benefits of this type of research is lost.

I dont think this is real... think about it.. this is a Soviet video. Russia is no longer the soviet union and from looking at it its an old ass video. Soviet Union was known for giving false information and wanting to be the most powerful nation. It would have been easy as shit to make this video fake. You can never see the WHOLE expiriment setup. The head also had the neck attached and there was no restraints, the dog moved its snout. If it was just a head it wouldve shifted. Take a pair of scissors, put them on a table and take one handle and try to slide it, watch how they will shift, the same thing would hav happened to the dogs head. It was simply an illusion using a living dog. And im pretty sure its easy to get a heart and lungs to pump just using electric shock....

edit: The Soviet union was probably trying to beat Americans to the punch with this, so they faked a video and released it.

Deez why the flip are you so smart sometimes. I did get that vibe, it almost seems as if the dog is in a slight coma or drugged state, just enough to respond but then again I see this as being possible if the dogs head wasn't severed for too long.

I want the trufe!

@hotdog

Im going to school for graphic design and video editing, so i spend a lot of time planning ways to exaggerate shots and fake shit. Like skateboarding, i cant tre flip very high so if i was taping myself id shoot really low to the ground and it would look like i could pop it higher. If you watch the vid its hard to see anything in the background, theres probably either some kind of mirror shit rigged up or or a curtain.

Oh and i forgot... Unless they killed their pet, the fur on the animal should be all kinds of fucked up. Cause it wouldve been frozen for a while until it could be used. If it was still frozen the fur wouldve been bunched up and doing weird things... straight up bad hair day, deffinatly not cute and cuddley like in the video.
