While this isn't actually pertaining to the S12 chassis. I was wondering what people knew or thought about this motor? Its a 4.8l DOHC inline six that came in the Patrol. 240hp and almost 300lb-ft of torque at 4000 and 3200 rpm respectively. I'm just trying to find out more information on them, such as internal strength, cam specs, head flow, etc. I mean, 240hp and 300lb-ft from an inline 6 release in the early 2000's with a BOAT load of lowend torque in an S30 can't be bad. I was thinking that with a garret gt45 would be pretty nasty. Not to mention they came in a front engine rear drive layout, so short of custom mounts and the addition of more electronics, it wouldn't be all that crazy. If people can fit LSx's in them, why can't I do a big I6?. What do you guys think?

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

sounds like a bigger cousin of the toyota 1FZ-FE... 212hp@4600rpm and 275ft/lbs@3000rpm you'll probably have a better chance of finding the toyota one in a yard in an mid 90' land cruiser or a LX450... as for the patrol, I don't think it was ever imported here... with those engines...

That thing is a mile long!  Any idea how long it is in relation to the 12 engine bay?  This would be cool but where could you find something like this anyway?  It seems like a 2jz would be a more rewarding swap if you are going through the trouble of wiring, mounts, etc anyway.  Checking out more about this puppie ;)

Its not just the reward behind it the swap, it is the uniqueness and sheer power. It puts out more power in NA form then the 2JZ, not to mention its got a larger displacement then any stroker kit on the market for the 2JZ. No replacement for displacement.
