Down time, traffic, and popularity
« on: 05:41:12 PM / 12-Nov-10 »
SO yes, as some of you noticed there was some down time the first part of today, due to a billing error (nothing we could do about it). Normally the host company is quick to respond to things, but this time they took awhil.

Some of you did remember the Facebook site, which is good. It's funny tho, the downtime brought me no fewer than 20 text messages to my phone, and a dozen or so instant messages to my computer. Many of them within an hour or so. It's nice to know that when we're down (which is rare), we are missed :P

On that note, I'd like to mention a few trends we've been noticing. Traffic for C-S12 has been up for the past few months, and new signups are happening daily. Many of these new signups are also taking the time to introduce themselves, too, which is great. I noticed that some of the new signups are from nations on the eastern hemisphere, and I would encourage those of you on that side of the world to post and say hello :)

All-in-all, this unexpected downtime has brought to our attention just how much patronage we get, and gives us the firm impression that we are presently the most popular and active S12 community on the internet. I just wanted to say THANKS! We will continue to provide and maintain THE center for Nissan S12 information and enthusiasm, and still support our regional communities around the world.

VIVA LA S12!

Hella flush and all associates should be gunned down for brainwashing people into thinking a 225 and lots of camber is proper wheel fitment. THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.
i dont own a s12 at the moment but trying to acquire one to get rid of my s13 hatch

Lol I'd like to say, I woke up today to a text from Jay asking about the situation.  It woke me up out of a drunken stupor of a sleep haha.  Then I got like 5 more, and then I signed on to IM and got 10 more.  Anyways, my point is, I'm completely in agreement with arro on the fact that we have a massive and very great user base here, and we appreciate every one of you.

On another subject, we are looking into some things at the moment to help avoid situations like this in the future.

And as always, feel free to email either myself (xanokais [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com), or Arro AND myself (clubs12admin [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com) if you ever notice a situation like what happened today.

Also, here's a link to the Facebook group for those of you who don't have it yet: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=136827479669150

On a slightly related note, do you guys support the site privately, through ads or can we donate to help pay for hosting?

simple ads arent too bad, like the google text ads, etc.

Also BattleFairy, we do have that.  if you donate a good chunk of money, you get "CONTRIBUTING MEMBER" under your name.

Yeah we used to get regular donations, but that dropped of as soon as the economy tanked. Tim and Travis never kept records, and I started to last month, so there are few (one or two) people emblazoned with the title.

There may be more, I might be able to search the paypal records.

Who can we send paypal donations to? I've never noticed a donate here button or link, but I'm oblivious sometimes.
