the intercooler kit is fine

u should use new mounts.... dont wanna use old ones n have to replace them soon after..... try these

they are a bit firmer.. havent driven my car yet so cant tell u exactly how much firmer.

as for drive shaft.. u need to shorten the front half of your driveshaft orr get a new one piece one made.

anything else- u might want to upgrade your fuel pump while your at it

vegasS12

i have a greddy down pipe if interested has a bend in it thou haha

Find a s13 with manual transmission and get the front half of it... then mate it with your rear half (removing your stock front half) and it's bolt on... rear s12 shaft front s13 shaft (manual that is)

to post picture, you just need to...

Upload it online, think about www.photobucket.com

Then you post it like this...

Just replace all 4 () with []...

yer only two needed.. left side and right side..

if your using the sr20det gear box.. go with a mount for that.. the bracket(tranny) will need to be modded a bit though.... there are a few rite ups on modding the tranny bracket try searching for it.

Phisherman09

i swapped bellhousings on my sr swap, so im using a CA20 trans. its way cleaner/easier imo. that way you use the stock driveshaft and such. i had  the hyrbid driveshafts on my ka-t and ca18det swaps, and they vibrated like hell, probably un-balanced.

apparently sr tranny's are beefier or something. i plan on 350 + whp so i guess we'll see what happens.

i used hockey puck mounts, but any ka/sr/ca s13 mount will work.  i build $3000 dollar engines but am too cheap to buy expensive mounts lol.

as for intercooler piping i made my own., any s13 kit can be made to work with minor fabrication.

sr's are fun you'll like it.

Sr and Ka Trannys are the same, and yes they are beefier than any s12 trans. Well idk about the vg trans, idk what they haz.

And just to clarify, i was naked in this car.

EDIT: The exhaust isnt even clamped on i dont think...

And plan on rebuilding the sr when you get it.

The sr and ka tranny are beefier than the mk1 s12 tranny (FS5W71B) but are the same as the mk2 s12 tranny (vg30e, ca20e and ca18et if you live in Canada or europe) FS5W71C... the ratio are different between the ka and sr tranny for sure, the ka is the same as the tranny used behind the rb20det in the skyline gtst (same ratio I am told) but the sr and ca18det have different ratio... (much like the difference between the ca20e and ca18et ratio in the s12)... as far as strenght goes, they are basicly the same, the tail assembly is different (which account for why the overall transmission is a little longer on the version used in the s13 compared to the s12, but the transmission and gears are exactly the same between all the FS5W71C... just the ratios changed according the the engine that was originaly mounted in front of it... I thought I would clarify all this...

So basicly, just swap the bellhousing on your original transmission to keep the stock driveshaft/shifter position... I believe that the ca20e ratios are a little longer than the sr ones, but by a very fine marging... I'll dig a little to get them... but the strenght is the same...

In fact, I will have to get a second confirmatin on this, but the s12 fs5w71c matted on the ca20e has the exact same ratio as the one in the SR20DET and CA18DET, the overdrive is what is different between those 3 box and the FS5W71C on the KA24E/DE and RB20DET... those latter box have a taller overdrive gear, so you rev a little less on the highway, but has less torque put down on the road in overdrive compared to the ca20e, sr20det and ca18det box... if the FS5W71C tranny in the SE matted to the VG30E is the same as the one in the Z31, then it has the same ratio as the KA24 box (same overdrive) the box behind the ca18et in the S12 is overall shorter except the overdrive which is a little taller (taken on a mk1 B tranny, I don't know if it carried on to the mk2 C tranny)...

i don't know why they are different, but it might be that they may share the same gears except the primary reduction between the input shaft and the counter shaft could be different...it would explain the shorter ratio on the > 1:1 gear and the taller ratio on the < 1:1 gear (overdrive)... but it's just speculation right now...

Yeah, I never got why in the hell did nissan used the t-5 for the turbo model... but hey that's when they decided that they had to build their own "strong" gearbox if they wanted it to be reliable... I guess it had it uses...loll

Okok, im a bit exhausted from a crazy day at work. but lemme get this straight, the CA tranny will mount to an SR engine? or just the insides are swap-able.  If thats the case, i take both apart and swap the insides, mounting the SR tranny with CA goodies inside?

Or vise-versa?
Christ died a bloody brutal death, deserved by no one.  And he did it for you and I.

Phisherman09

you just pull the bellhousing off.

theres like 8 12 mm bolts the hold it to the trans, then like 5 that hold the front cover on, and a snap ring. i takes me like 20 min to swap one, but ive done like 3 now

s12beast87

so I do use the CA bellhousing with the SR gears/insides? or is it the other way around?
