Fuck you then, I'll take my movies, box of chocolates, bottle of wine and chloroform somewhere else.

Adding an SSD to that is kinda like strapping a 3 inch stainless HKS exhaust on a geo metro.

thanks guys. it definitely makes me feel good knowing that others do the same thing, for whatever personal reasons - and it truly does help... until the wrench slips and i slice my finger on one of the hard line retaining clips.

You have the all aluminum block correct?  I think Waylons motor is the heavier pre '95 VH45...  Does anyone have the weight figures of the SE VG30e vs VH45DE?  Pre and Post '95.

yes, my engine is a 1995. i'm not sure of the weight figures but i know the VH45DE weighs less than the RB20DET that i was originally going to use.

hey waylon, i'm sure you already know this but i'll say it anyway, haha - replace your timing chain guides if you have the earlier engine!

mine is 94... the holy year

and all the years are all aluminum.  alum block, heads, timing covers, etc etc.  dido on the timing guides.  on top of it.  been researching this swap on anbd off for about 2 years

try to get a "running" weight of the motor if u can.  hopefully i can as well.  its right at 500lbs with all the bs.  bs removed should take it into mid 400s.  but ur keepin that stuff :)

i'll see what i can do on that front. as of now, i might have found a trick solution for keeping the A/C, but it requires more investigation and i still need to look at the electric steering rack conversion.
