Bought this car locally off craigslist.  Needed a clutch and some TLC.  Snatched it up for $600 + $110 for the clutch kit.  BIG thx to Jeremy A for his help on the reinstall of the clutch.  This is a stout ca20.  i mean seriously it has way more power than my old one that was originally in the silver car.  idk why yet but next time somebody says "my ca20 is fast" dont be so quick to dismiss them.  def over 100whp here.  thats pretty good for an engine that usually dynos for about 70whp or less lmao

i told him in the other thread jay to ka swap it and iggy and sideways both said they didnt like the ka...eh, to each his own. I think this notch will be fun with ca20 power and lots of suspension....should go do some road racing just for fun....not having to lift is a blast!

the white hatch was sold to Jeremy A.  its a great car but its too clean and too optioned for me.  it kinda hurts to think about takin that rare car with all those great 80s doodads and ripping them all out and then grazing walls with it.  its much better in the hands of an owner who will appreciate it for who it is.

and ya no KA for me.  Jason and I overhualed a S14 dohc all stock.  not a fan of how they designed that engine.  I will quote a member of NICO: "r34 gtr wrote:

this notch will most likely be getting ca18det power. but ONLY after the ca20e dies.  might last forever...

I think the only way you'll kill that thing is if you throw nitrous at it hahahahaha my notch ca ran forever and i beat the living shit out of that motor even on 3 cyls hahaha

I love my ka...but, there is a thing or two about it that scares me...mostly the timing chain...but, i have seen worse. Most of the engine is straight forward....but, the s14 kas got more electronics and what not...which kind of scare me because i like the keep it simple stupid method...but, i mean, stuff like obd2 has its benefits also....you take the good, you take the bad...you know? But like...I love the vg...but it can be a pain in the ass to work on too...especially changing the plugs and what not...but 4 cylinders are easier to work on than 6...

One minute it is a vh45 going into a sra hatch. The next minute it is an irs notch with no swap plans unless the great running ca20 dies. I am feeling kinda gyped right now.

ya the serious track car is still gonna be a SRA'd hatch with a VH45DE

last night we got the new clutch master off the red shell and onto the notch.  also replaced the clutch slave and deleted the clutch dampener as well as installed my Earls SS clutch line.  thx to jason for the help of course and for havin the right technic for bleeding the clutch he knows lol

we also got the rear subframes swapped over between his black car and the red shell.  installed the 1 piece driveshaft on his car and swapped the diff for my old welded r180. all that stuff is his now.  i held onto my turbo r200 tho..  since i have a IRS car again

Awesome awesome stuff,  so the notch's clutch is back in business now?  Sweet,  and Jason's car is gonna be amazing now too,  now that his ca18det is running and he has your sick suspension and a welded diff too!

yep. ran the notch tonight.  BIG BIG BIG thanks to jason and kendra for takin my car and gettin the tires and muffler put on while i was stuck at work.

The muffler makes it much quieter but it doesnt have that special oomph! that it had anymore.  i guess CA20s dont care for mufflers.  I lost every run iirc lmao.  winning wasnt the point tho so its all good.  Jason on the other hand did work!  great night out at the runs with the SpecOne crew!

hahaha def was a fun night and I did some work but need moar boost lol and no prob on the tires and the muffler was just tired from the night before with the swap stuff was got about 4 hours of sleep in about a 32 hour time frame lol
