Do you know Pedro? He lives in the Dominican Republic, his car is one of the featured cars on the home page here... you should get in touch with him.

Car looks like it needs a lot of work but some of the roughest cars sometimes end up amazing..

Welcome to Club-S12. And yeah, I admit I don't like those wheels either :P Just sayin.

yes, i kinda sorta know who pedro is....
i have certainly seen his car, but we havent really spoken.
i'm trying to get in touch with him for info and help & all that jazz.

i kno the wheels are fugly xD
but i have developed a liking for them (dont ask why, i dont really know myself.)
and was considering painting them pink or some LOOK-AT-ME-I-NEED-ATTENTION color.
but, worry not, what i really want are some 15' meshies.

ANYWAYS, last weekend, i started working on the car, to see what else is there...
there a lot more than meets the eye.

- Both rear calipers are gone, brake lines cutted. one of the rear disk's also gone. (the previous owner Probably did it to do Burnouts) (*Primary Concern)
- One front disk has a huge crack. (*Primary Concern)
- the car has a lot of rust (*Terciary Concern)
- the car has an LPG system. (*Secondary Concern)
- SUSPENSION. (*Primary Concern)
- Welded Wheel studs (I was like WTF?!)

i have my first q:
- The car doesnt have an E-Brake, is that because i dont have rear brakes or is it because de e-brake is fucked up too?

Picture Dump:

PD: btw, feel free to correct my english, as i am "kinda" a grammar nazi myself.

after like three weeks without touching the car, this weekend i worked on it, mostly to get it running on gas...
so i checked the pump, and it works, so i was like erm gotta be the injectors,
i got them out cleaned em and they worked, some were clogged yes, but nothing that a Carb cleaner wouldnt fix.
after i cleaned them and all that jazz, i try to test them on the car and NOTHING,
not a single spray... so im thinking the problem must be in the harness.

the harness itself is a mess, a bunch of things cutted and unplugged so i dont really know what to look for.
is there some way someone could guide me in the right direction... with some kind of harness for dummies?

on another note: while i was working on it, two wheel STUDS fell off and the strut tower got fucked up.

EDIT: ill take pictures tomorow, to see if you help me out.

EDIT 2: I think i know what the problem is: here in the dominican republic, lpg systems are used a lot,
in order to use one of those they need to find a way to stop the fuel pump and injectors from working.
so they tend to cut/disconect a ground wire from somewhere. now i just need to find where.

i used a tester to check the voltage from the plug to the chassis and it was 12 v
now my question: is it supposed to be ALWAYS 12v or its gonna change between the two voltages?
like, the injectors are like on/off, on/off.... right?

picture dump coming soon.

so i checked the injectors  plugs and they have voltage, but the pulse is not coming from the computer.
im checking the efi wiring driagram to check eeveything off.

q: what would be the implications of trowing the injector lines from the ECU manually?
i know i ask a lot of very dumb q, sorry

You mean making new wires? Basically building your own harness... it's been done before, probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

i found out the computer had been a long time in diagnosis mode. can that fuck up the computer?
the computer doesnt seem to work.
thats when i decided that the swap was gonna happen sooner than i expected.

after a lot of researching i choose to go the SR because of the "easyness" of the swap. wanted to go KA but heard that it was one of the hardest swaps to our chassis. and as im not experienced with swaps i ran away from the idea. (wanna go KA in my sentra tho)

so i bought the engine already. read the threads about it and have an uncle whos gonna help me out. im actually deciding wether to keep the CA trans or go with the SR one. we gonna start working on it this weekend.

now that i have the engine im starting to think about suspension and brakes. and which path to go.

nice B14 on your second post 8)
KA swaps are just as hard as SR swaps the only difference is all the turbo stuffs. I would definitely recommend you use the SR/KA trans tho, its much stronger. But doesn't bolt up like the stock trans so it's up to you.

thnx, the B14 is the DD. (love that car)

about the SR swap, i have read quite many threads and from what i read the engine mounts are the same as the CA20E. the only problem would be the trans for which we would have to make the mount and make a hole cuz the shifter is a little farther awa from the engine. (im more concerned about the whole "getting the engine in" fact, atleast for now.)

Yeah it won't be a big issue. There are a number of threads with pictures on custom mounts. It will be easier for you because your car came as a 5-speed, I have pictures in my thread on how to use some cutting and some washers to make a trans mount that works:

i went with your version of the transmount. and i have two questions:
how far back did you have to grind/cut the big piece of the mount.
and can i use the upper part of the trans mount that came with the sr trans?
the ca trans support was broken, as can be seen on picture #3 of the last post.

on another note. will i have to weld the driveshaft  or do you guys actually disassamble something in order for it to work?
do i need an intercooler in orther for the car to work properly? (as it came with one)

other than that the engine is in its place inside Zachary. (thats the name of my twelve)
it was my first swap, which i enjoyed thoroughly.
next, once all the wiring is worked out, im gonna go on with the brakes.
