Love it. What're you doing for ignition? Is the ka24e a better platform for carbs than the ka24de? If so, I may start shopping for one this weekend.

I was originally hoping this was going to be a turbo build when i saw it was a single slammer, but this is much better. :)

yeah it is.

thats part of the reason I chose the single slammer.
that and its like a modern L series to me. Im doing a period build just with a modern long block lol.
I come from Z's so L4's have never really done it for me power wise.

with the single cam it runs the same oil pump/dizzy shaft system as the L series.
so you just swap in an L20B oil pump/dizzy shaft and with some slight modification to the font cover
you can bolt on an L series dizzy.

Im not going to  be using anything but the factory 510 engine harness.

with the DE you will still need something like megajolt to run the ignition.

the bonus of webber/solex/mukuni type carbs.

a possible future project after Iv finished the car and had it driving for a while

few of my old motors I did.

L16 with a 32/36 for my old 510 wagon.

SSS L16 for the old 620. not in the pic but it ran EI, duel SU's and all that goodies.

L28et from the old 240z

there is something to be said about the old school. i have had many 510s i wish i would have kept them but there was nothing like the sound of a L4 with any sidedraft carbs and a header and i always ran a straight pipe with a caddy resonator it may have not been fast by today standards but what a very sweet sound on a twisty road in the middle of the night

It's so different from the l-series though. KA's can't rev to save their lives, but the heads actually flow! Also, they know how to cool all their cylinders, unlike the l-series. I think you may have convinced me to go dig up the rack of Mikunis I had started fitting to a ka24de last year. Now I miss my s30's, too.

Im looking forward to this.  Ive been obsessing about carbing a KA for almost a year and the info out there is slim.  Would love to talk to you sometime.
