Hey everybody!

Nathan (NissanNate) and myself are in need of some input from all you guys.
We are starting a manufacturing business to handle the needs of the Silvia owner-base. We hoping to follow the model that Granny's Speedshop has set up in offering complete swap solutions for a variety of motors.
We also want to manufacture some of the harder to find parts that are needed.

What we need from all you guys is basically a list of everything you would like to see made available in a "one-stop-shop" sort of place. At the moment we are pretty much open to anything and everything, including fiberglass kits.
So let us know; nothing is too far fetched at this point.

At the moment we are trying to focus on the Silvia lineup, but if you have any other import that you have difficulty in finding parts for, let us know. We hope to expand this business into a powerhouse in the market.

I greatly appreciate all or your input!!

Thanks!
Scott

(PS: Mods, if this is in the wrong section please move it, I just wanted to put it somewhere that would get the most response from members. Thanks!!)

That, and the GP kit are absolutely on our list!

So what about swap specific items? Things like motor mounts, etc? Interior bits, exterior bits, chassis parts...like I said, anything and everything you can think of.

Even though I know the s12 community in North America is too cheap to buy any aftermarket parts, I'll throw in my list of parts I'd like to see specifically for the s12(you guys are wasting your time in the s12 market imo) and hopefully these parts will all see R&D action before selling:

bolt-on catback exhaust
fmic kits for ca18et/ka24det/sr20det/RB/etc...
custom ready to bolt-on coilovers & struts and spring combos(maybe include a custom s13 front suspension conversion kit with the coilovers as an option for those that are still on stock s12 suspension)
Find and sell s12 specific aftermarket parts
carbon fiber turbo hoods and hatch/trunk
solid rear subframe bushings
solid rear diff mount
1 piece drive shafts
bolt-on R180 to R200 conversion
steel braided clutch line
Adjustable tension rods
"Nismo powerbrace copy" tension rod brackets
anti-sway bars
aluminum engine bay splash guards
s12 specific seat brackets for s14/s15/350z/370z/miata/bride/sparco/etc seats

As for the s13/s14/s15 market, there's such a huge market for them already...unless you guys can come up with something amazingly cool. You might just be another "S-chassis specific store", nothing wrong with it. Just make sure you keep a good stock of parts in house instead of making people wait for their parts. One reason why I've always shopped with Phase2motortrend is because 99% of the time they will have parts I want in stock. It's all about customer service and making sure people receive their orders in a timely manner. Reputation is what makes or kills a shop. Good luck, nice to see you guys wanting to manufacture parts for the s-chassis community.

I really appreciate all the input! The idea is to get our feet wet and make a bunch of stuff for the s12 community first. This way we can benefit the community by providing much needed parts at little to no profit, as well as get the experience we need to go up against the big guys.

Thank you guys so much!!

Don't even bother with replica stuff at first. If it was made already then it's already available, even if it's super rare like the gp and erebuni kits. Make things that nobodies done yet, like brake upgrade kits that allow better calipers to be used with stock suspension, a kit with all the do-it-yourself coilover things already included and assembled for people who can't weld, motor mounts for ka/sr, and most importantly adjustable rear lower control arms. If you only make one part, make it an adjustable rear lca. That would finally solve one of the biggest problems a lowered irs s12 has, by allowing the camber to be adjusted.

This is great, all of it, if it can be done for a reasonable price.

THAT IS EASY, anyone can camber a skinny as tire till it dosnt rub. Now fitting an 11 with a 315 on stock fender with reasonable camber, that is fitment. And looks, and performs better than both.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

^ or drop in a celica supra rear axle + MK4 Golf calipers and Nissan Primera rotors.
then you have easy LSD access, better gearing options AND rear discs.

how about rear 4 links for a supra rear axle? :)
