Ok my first SE was sold cause ex-wife couldnt drive a stick and I was deploying to Iraq (2005), and my second SE broke a timing belt. So before it gets driven anymore, time for an overhaul.

Time to rebuild Radiator - was full of $hit - 90+ degree summers in FL had to get rodded and tanked, also had a bad row

Time to dig into Timing Belt!

Man, that thing looks rough.

Under the passenger side valve cover, almost looks like a ton of heat and lack of oiling to me.
Carbon in the intake could just be the PCV and EGR.

Good time to trim your timing belt cover so you can get at your temp sensor easily later. Lots of carbon! But I think Seishuku is has a good point that it might just be EGR and PCV issues.

Powder Coated intake super gloss black, vaccum line are powder coated argent silver and replaced all hardware with allan cap screws looks amazing in person! And new Trans Dapt remote oil filter kit came in today....yay!

Those bolts will rust... Especially with you being in Florida, you might want to coat just the head (not the socket), or get them chrome/zinc plated.

Looks good though!

Yea there clear coated lol already had rust thought process was cheaper than zinc bolts. thanks for the like

seishuku

Ah, good stuff.
I was thinking about getting zinc dichromate plated or stainless 12point bolts for my SR, just a little bling factor for an otherwise fairly boring engine bay.

Very nice. I need to wire my oven back up again and do some more powder coating...

You gonna shave the top of the text, or just leave it coated?
