Adding an SSD to that is kinda like strapping a 3 inch stainless HKS exhaust on a geo metro.

Thanks Long.  Yeah, I am happy with the rims and a lot of people are taking a liking to them.  They are 17x8 front and 17x9.  With Dunlop Direzza's, herra grip.

nice. I'd always wondered what 17s would look like on an s12...not too shabby. My crown vics are 16s, but the tires are too tall [245/50] because they rub the mud flaps under heavy throttle and when the body dips over bumps. I suppose I could fix this with a higher rate spring and shocks though lol

Well, I had 17's on before as well.  Only difference is that these are much better offsets so they fill out the wheel well in a much more ideal manner.  I also tried 19s that had an ideal offset.  The 19s werent that bad... they were Lowenharts.  Hella expensive apparently.  One could pull them off on an S12 but it will depend on if they are lowered and then a fender roll to prevent excessive rubbing but could be done.  It's in my build thread on S12Silvia.com.

I'll check it out. I think the offset might be part of the problem, but the body rock is definitely an issue. I'm probably just going to go all out and swap out the rear subframe though, because I like to be obnoxious and make things difficult lol

So, got some weight numbers that would indeed prove to be interesting. Car was weighed at a commercial truck scale stop.

Total weight: 3140 lbs - 100%
Front: 1640 lbs - 52.22%
Rear: 1500 lbs - 47.77%

Compare to a stock automatic SE S12 (silverton's)...

Total weight: 3093 lbs - 100%
Front: 1673 lbs - 54.08%
Rear: 1420 lbs - 45.91%

Interesting isnt eh? Apparently the RB wouldn't kill in weight as most would assume. ;)

DjayS12

But you are also heavier in the rear than a stock SE... battery relocation? Lost of grocery in the trunk?

But yeah your front end is 33lbs lighter according to your number. It's nice to know!

see my build thread!

Interesting. I need to get my FJ powered car weighed to know the numbers and the balance.

No battery relocation. Just a full tank of in the rear. My battery is up in the front but it's a small deep cycle and doesnt weigh that much. Can carry it around with one hand. There is a difference of 80s pounds, which is indeed interesting. I have a half cage in the back, which will add some weight to it. Then factor in the Brides, which weight more in addition to the extra weight on the sliders and the harnesses. It may not seem as much but it does add up.

Obviously with everything, there is a margin of error but understanding that these scales are calibrated fairly often and used by the government and such, it shouldn't be too far off and within a given/expected deviation.

So, I know there has been video shots of the 12 but I have never been able to get a hold of those who took it or even found it at any point. However, local fellow 12 owner got this video of it cruising on the freeway on the way back from Nissan Fest. Cheers Mason!

You should do a proper videoshoot and make a nice vid about it.

Secondly you need to get your hands on the EURO spec MK 1 tails. I can hook you up and you can bring them with you when you come over (saves you the shipping and import taxes).

Yeah, for sure man. I would then need to figure out how to work on my reverse lights, but I dont think it should be too great of an issue.

Next Tuesday I have an appointment to get some seat brackets made up for the S12. These will enable us to sit lower and it will be designed for aftermarket seats. Just the thing we have all been looking for! I'll be posting up plenty of pics and all that good stuff. Will also supply a link to where you can buy them.
