Moving up to Houghton this week guys. Won't be around for a little bit... Gonna be busy as hell.
Not that big of a deal, I just wanted to say:

Are you at least getting a bigger garage?
I keep my car cleaner then my room
Fuck you then, I'll take my movies, box of chocolates, bottle of wine and chloroform somewhere else.
Adding an SSD to that is kinda like strapping a 3 inch stainless HKS exhaust on a geo metro.

HA! I wish it was that easy.

Are you at least getting a bigger garage?

WELL!!!!!
About that...
As many here already know. I'm in the middle of buying a small house from the 1910's, with a small one car garage that is in pretty decent condition for 26k dollars. Here's a picture!

BUT! That has all completely changed. The inspection went over well, but not quite well enough. Needless to say I was forced to find an apartment to rent before I could move in ANYWHERE. Luckily I found a place that would do a one month lease, starting today.

So, with this house taking so long to close on, I decided to try my luck at tax auctions and see what they had in the area, with 30k of cash in hand. And have officially purchased something I feel was a much better buy. The older home has been dragging on for 3 months now, and I had my eye on this new house for a month while waiting for the owners of the older home to get back with me on my conditions. Earlier today (Before the auctions), they didn't even come close to my offer, so I got really fed up with them, and went to the tax auction.
And scored.
A newer modular home, built in 1997.
1 block away from the older home pictured above.
With a HUGE garage, same size plot, more house space.
And.........
I got it for $18,275. $20,063 after all applicable fee's. Cash out the door. This home is now mine.

I present you guys, with my new home. I will be moving in 30 days from now (Even though I have the receipt for the property, and it is going in my name, and I will be picking up the keys to the place on tuesday from the courthouse)

MORE TO COME! SCHOOL HAS STARTED!
(Oh, and I still haven't finished packing my garage... Even though I have officially vacated my old apartment as of noon on friday).
So I'm back in wausau for a couple days to finish it by the end of the holiday weekend. No internets, and this is really slow to do on my phone. But that's how it's going.

Ciao for now.

Are the floors hollow like a double-wide, or does it just look like one?

No. A double-wide is a trailer home. A modular home has no axles and no frame. Compared to a trailer home that has a frame, axles, and can pretty much be set whereever th fuck you want.. A modular home has a concrete foundation it is set on, with the floors shimmed up from that foundation.

Yes, I can crawl under there. But it is not a double-wide. Two very different things.

very nice man
Thanks! Couldn't beat it. Less work is needed than the older home, it was cheaper, and that garage is worth 13k if I built one at the older home, at least. So I'm happy.

Looks good...you gonna keep the party tub?

Fuck yeah I am. I prefer a soaker/party tub to sit in with two chicks. Hot tubs cover up too much goodness with bubbles.

It was a lot of perseverence, and being very fed up with a realtor.

I'm all about the BBQ, but that's a hell of a drive even for the closest of y'all.

Yeah. MUCH better than the old house.

I'll pass on that. But the road out front is fair game. ;)

So it's a doublewide with no axles. Fun stuff.

By the by, having people around, grilling, isn't barbecue. Barbecue is a much more southern art. Just saying.

Congrats man, sounds like you got a much better deal. I renovate houses and anything from 1910 makes me cringe. Its like buying a 3rd hand turbo shell that has had 4 different swaps performed by different people.

And I'm back in Houghton with interwebz.

By the by, having people around, grilling, isn't barbecue. Barbecue is a much more southern art. Just saying.
I have 3 smokers, including a trailer grill with a smoker box so I can smoke a whole hog and make some of my award winning pulled pork (5th place, but still award winning!), smoked ribs (2nd place) and some old fashion hamburgers, brats, or 27 whole chickens.
I think I can do a BBQ ;)

Before you ask, it was UP Hog Wild.

Congrats man, sounds like you got a much better deal. I renovate houses and anything from 1910 makes me cringe. Its like buying a 3rd hand turbo shell that has had 4 different swaps performed by different people.

I think so. It's much more rent able when I'm done. No basement (to flood), will be CHEAP to heat.
And that driveway/garage..... Oh my...........  I was this close to relegating myself to a 1 car until I finished building another one. But now I won't have to, AT A CHEAPER PRICE!

Sure it needs a toilet or two. Those are cheap.
It doesn't have fucking tube and pole electical, with a FUSE box.......
It doesn't have a chimney that needs repair....
It doesn't have a 33 year old gas furnace, and a 28 year old water heater.
I can list more, but I think I scored a hell of a better place, for a hell of a better price.
