Windshields
« on: 04:22:34 PM / 25-Feb-13 »
I will soon be in need of a new one, see a crack starting from an old chip repair.  Saw one listed at OEM Surplus for $100, but it lists years 86-88 and mine's an 85.  So I am assuming the MK1 has a different windshiled than the MK2?  Any suggestions on a good glass source?

same windshield all years but the tint at the top is a different color. bronze for mk1 and blue for mk2. the first place i went to had both in stock. idk why since no other car has our windshield but they were there. u might not have to scrounge it up online

Fuck you then, I'll take my movies, box of chocolates, bottle of wine and chloroform somewhere else.
Adding an SSD to that is kinda like strapping a 3 inch stainless HKS exhaust on a geo metro.

Wondering if the oem surplus will be of better quality. My neighbor does auto glass and he's always complaining about the quality of the product insurance companies have him install vs oem

Any idea on shipping cost from OEM Surplus? I checked yesterday at a local shop, they said two weeks and it would cost about $230.

Norm said about $300 for shipping - not really set up to ship glass.  He suggested local pick up.!
